And for a tentative game of Conjugate That Verb. Which isn't much of a game but we could all use the language practice. I am, in fact, calling it 'Verb! It's what you do.' Which was, from what I vaguely remember, was the slogan of some sort of grammar/literacy campaign.

The rules are pretty simple:
1. Each language has its own thread branching off from the main post.
2. No dictionaries if you can possibly help it.
3. Conjugate one verb that associates from the comment above you.
4. Have fun! Practice things!

And we are starting with French. Since the verb is 'do', to do is to be. Do be do be do be do.

Maintenant, mon cerveau s'explosais. Je ne sais pas que s'est-il passé avec ma nouvelle fille, mais tout à coup, il y a le prince du gitans. Le même égérie de que nous sommes parlent dans le contexte de mon cher amí. Que s'est-il passé? Est_ce que je achetais un billet de loterie? Peut-être c'est rien du tout. N'importe rien. The somewhat frightening thing is I'm slowly getting better at French this way, too. Things are coming back to me. Sorry, guys, if this is irritating I can put it behind a cut, too.

Definitely need to get more efficient in the mornings, though, if I'm going to do this.

ETA: DUDE. I got a grammar point all by myself with only a couple of examples and a sleepy Kiki as my guide! VICTORY IS MINE!

Ahem. The grammar point: When это is used as a generic/default in conjunction with the presumed 'to be' verb, it is simply that. When it is used in conjunction with a gendered noun, it takes the gender of the noun. e.g. [Это] [моя собака] - [This is] [my dog], against [эта собака] [моя] [This dog] [is mine.]
