Most of these questions are actually about where you study in school, etcetera, since this is a college textbook I'm using. However, since the only school I'm in is Courtesan School, I'm just going to translate the passage and the questions.

1. Ist Ihre Uni oder Hochschule privat oder staatlich? Is your university or school private or public? (I think that's literally state-owned/run)
2. Wie teuer ist das Studium? Wie bezahlen Studenten die Studiengebühren und andere Kosten? Durch Stipenden oder durch Jobben? Oder bezahlen die Eltern? How expensive are your courses? How do the students pay the tuition and costs? Do they have scholarships or jobs? Or do the parents pay?
3. Wie ist das akademische Jahr an Ihrer Hochschule organisiert? Was machen die Studenten in den Semesterferien? How is the academic year at your school organized? What do the students study in the semseter?
4. Wie viele Kurse belegen Sie jedes Semester? In welchen Fächern? How many courses do the students enroll in each semester. In which departments? (Guessing on a rough analogy)
5. Wie viele Semester braucht man für einen Bachelor-Studiengang? How many semesters does one need for a Bachelor's?

Of course. On the right, not far, only 32 meters. [NO ONE SAW THAT] Really/truly, it's not big/large, only 32 meters.

-- Но очень уютная.
It's very cozy.

-- Вот в той маленькой комнате живу я. А здесь живут родители.
Here is the small room I'm in. [more lit/acc. "Here in this small room live I" use the proper verb] And here is the parents' room. [and here is where my parents live]

-- Какие большие окна! О, я вижу, что у вас иконы висят.
What big windows! Oh, I see, that's to that is where you hang icons. you have icons put up. [religious. Not LJ. Oh cultural context, how you amuse me. two alternate guesses at translation there] [у вас = you have/at yours. remember that.]

Yes, we are religious. [roughly translated]

German. And tonight, typing up bits and translating them. At least one paragraph.

An deutschen Universitäten studieren heute etwa 1,9 Millionen Studenten. Davon sind 140 000 Ausländer. Es gibt zu wenige Universitäten und die meisten Kurse sind deshalb überfüllt. Deutsch können nur mit dem Abitur studieren, trotzdem gibt es mehr Studenten als Studienplätze. Daher haben viele Facher den NC, den Numerus clausus. Junge Leute wissen also, dass es schwer ist, einen Studienplatz zu finden. Nur mit sehr guten Noten vom Gymnasium bekommen sie einen Studienplatz. Bevor Amerikaner in Deutschland studieren können, müssen sie in Amerika schon an einer Universität oder einem College Studenten sein. Sie müssen für die deutsche Universität auch eine Sprachprüfung machen.
