kittydesade: (komm zu mir)
[personal profile] kittydesade

Reflexive constructions:
Accusative: Ich habe mich gewaschen. I washed (myself). [This sounds like something Misha would tweet.]
Dative: Kaufst du dir einen neuen Farbfernseher? Are you buying (yourself) a new color TV? [I want my MTV.]

A reflexive pronoun may be in the accusative or the dative case, depending on its function in the sentence.

Accusative: mich/dich/sich/uns/euch/sich/sich
Dative: mir/dir/sich/uns/euch/sich/sich
Reflexive pronouns differ from personal pronouns only in the er/es/sie, sie-pl, and Sie forms, which are all sich.

Sie und Ihre Freunde hatten denselben Virus, doch heute fühlen sich alle wieder besser. Bilden Sie Sätze und benutzen Sie das passende Reflexivpronomen im Akkusativ.
e.g. Veronika fühlt sich heute besser.
1. Gabi und Rolf fühlen sich heute besser.
2. Du fühlst dich heute besser.
3. Ich fühl mich heute besser.
4. Wir fühle uns heute besser.
5. Philipp fühlt sich heute besser.
6. Ihr fühlt euch heute besser.

Hey, my icon is... vaguely relevant? Except it's not being used in the reflexive, but in the plain dative pronoun sense. Ah well.

I hate house-buying.

I have come to this conclusion that, admittedly, I already suspected. I hate looking at houses because I'm incredibly picky. Not that I have an idea that this room should open up onto that room and the other room, but I have an idea of how much space I want, and in what rooms, and how much I want to pay for what. Which makes me picky even in a buyer's market, which this is, and dear lord have I mentioned we are getting an awesome interest rate? Ahem. But I hate looking at houses, I hate dealing with the fucking goddamn paperwork, I hate legalese, and I hate bureaucracy. At least everyone involved is being a perfect doll about everything.

So, the upshot and cause of this tirade is that there is no inspection tomorrow, because the bank just now decided to let us know that they want the house under contract before they'll turn on the utilities, which makes an inspection largely futile. Tomorrow, then, instead of going out to Old Hotness (*weeps*) to inspect it, we'll go over to our realty lady and sign the sapling's worth of offer paperwork. Put down our earnest money, make the whole thing contingent on a good inspection. I'm reasonably confident that it'll be okay and, more importantly, the boy is reasonably confident that it'll pass inspection. And he's much less biased and ready to piss a circle around the house than I am. And then we'll have that started, and then the inspection can happen, and there will be pictures for everyone. So it's not a major setback. Just a very, very irritating one.

Anyway. My last arm warmer is almost off needles! After that I can work on all the hope chest things ever. I've already got one placemat started, I'm not sure what to do other than placemats and doilys. People! Help! What else should go in a hope chest? Other than sheets, because I am damn well not embroidering sheets with stupid little patterns. and I don't have an actual chest to put this stuff in. Oops. But, you know.

Argh I can't wait to tell you people about Old Hotness. Argh, I say!

Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Oh, knitters.

I don't know what's good for a modern hope chest. If you're getting good sheet sets, you might monogram them. You might want a table runner, if not an entire table cloth. Have you considered quilts or rag rugs or the like?

Napkins, you can knit cotton napkins or sew them out of whatever you like easily enough. If you send them off to me and make sheep's eyes enough I might be willing to embroider them FOR you as a housewarming sort of present, though I'm more likely to do this if you sew them. >.> Um. You could always monogram towel sets, I guess. It's also not actually a bad idea (shut up stop laughing) to have a few spare sets of hats/mittens/gloves/scarves/etc. lying around. YOU COULD MAKE THOSE MITTENS. THE GLORIOUSLY STAINED GLASS PRETTY ONES. Ahem.

Wiki helps! Sometimes specific items of clothing (no, this isn't for a wedding), table linens, bed linens, towels, quilts, occasionally dishware. Says it. So I think you're probably good, don't forget the afghan(s). *amused*

Quilt complexity varies widely. It also depends on whether you are doing patchwork or quilts. This may not be the technically correct terms for the distinction, but the basics of quiltmaking is that you have the top, which is pieced together from fabric pieces (this can be done in detailed square-based patterns, more freeform, artistic image based, or you can skip this part and have a solid piece of fabric for the top), then the batting, which is the padding which turns the quilt from a sheet into anything from a light blanket to a duvet based on how thick/warm what you use is, and the backing. To fasten all of these together you have the outer seams, and then any stitching that crosses over the center of the fabric.

For the most basic thing, you can sew squares together, fasten the layers together with a border of bias tape, and tie the layers together with short lengths of yarn at all the corners of the piecework grid. Proper quilting gets into sewing the layers together using decorative lines of stitching. You can do gutter stitching around the pattern pieces, or decorative patterns that overlay the quilt top pattern. Some of the fanciest quilts ever are plain fabric tops with really elaborate decorative patterns quilted on.

I can supply links, images, and more babble, but. Quilting tends to consume the soul once one begins, but a basic tied patchwork blanket can be very beautiful and cozy.

Yup. I'm guessing shooting Regina in the face and doing a victory dance over her corpse is not a viable option for breaking the curse. Otherwise, COME ON.

Well, it would require Emma actually believing in the curse, but hey, it's always possible.

Sadly, I don't think Gold wants the curse broken that badly.

It's got the same feel as his shop, I think. There's almost something suffocating about it, with all the rich, dark colors and the ornate old-world furnishings. It's like the lining of a giant coffin.

Also, what kind of gun was he wielding there? It looks like he whipped it out of the Wild West.
