I have no idea how many pounds of mulch I hauled over the weekend, but I'm pretty sure it was about 30 wheelbarrows full. And it was enough to enable me to do five more pushups than last week with ease. And enough to make me horribly sore the next morning. Both next mornings. Oi. Inappropriate and politically incorrect jokes about my being half-Mexican and half raised on a farm are a go-go, make 'em while you got 'em. I certainly have been.

That said, though, the raised bed is about half full and hopefully I'll be finishing it up soon. Maybe it's not too late in the season to plant broccoli, which is the chief thing I'm worried about. The tomatoes will survive. The peppers will survive if I can remember to keep the patio door shut and not let the cats in unsupervised to tear up and chew on plants. Oi. And anyway, I can replant those and the cukes in the summer and have those grow pretty well. So. I guess it's not too bad! I'm mildly annoyed at having to do it all myself, but c'est la vie.

And I did make some progress on Nano this weekend, but I severely need to start kicking ass on it, I am way too far behind. Also started blogging early, though, and finished the short story for submission that now just needs to get through edits, and finished the first chunk of a serial to be released on my mailing list the first of May, so! And picked up the living room so, all in all, a productive weekend! Somehow. I have no idea how. I have a tired. Maybe I'll have a quiet day at work today. (It's a Monday. The odds are not good.)

I completely forgot to state my intentions. That's the kind of morning it is. So, okay, today I intend to get through one and a half (I think I left it off at half) additional scenes in Twisted Thread, and then chunk out a bunch of White Lightning. In the afternoon, some mulch hauling, some Person of Interest, and some more White Lightning and possibly working on the first installment of the serial a bit more. If not, that can wait till tomorrow.

I think that's all the time I have for Russian today, and I think tomorrow I really should figure out some verbs to do ahead of time. And on the other hand, complex construction is worth practicing anyway, so.

... and you know, anything else I could have had to say now pales in comparison to the Boston Marathon explosions, so I'm just going to leave these here.

And please remember that this just happened a few hours ago. News is still coming in.

Routines help. They help me, at least, pretty sure they help other people. So, in the interest of maintaining my routines, here's some Japanese grammar rules.

The American Red Cross says, amazingly, they have enough blood supplies. Still, please donate locally if not in the area, or make an appointment to donate in the future. There's almost always a need.

And please remember and keep faith that there is some good in the world. As Mister Rogers and his mother said, look to the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.
