So, yes. No Russian or German yesterday because the second I said "Oh, I think it'll be a quiet day" just about everything that could have piled on did pile on and I ended up sitting in my computer chair in a soggy heap for the last hour or so of the day. Ow.
On the plus side, writing went along smoothly, even if it still wasn't quite what I expected or intended. And right now I have no idea if I'm making good groundwork to establish characters or if I'm just drawing this out longer than it needs to be. I think the former, since a lot of these people do a lot of questionable things and have a lot of issues and this at least makes it clear that they do care and do mean well, etc. I also managed to pick up another project. I swear, if it turns out that I can do this full time, I really will be putting 40 hour or more weeks and earning my whatever. Because oi. Right now let's take a tally of the projects I'm working on.
1. White Lightning Draft
2. Black Ice edits
3. Serial writing
4. Sandborn edits (soonish)
5. The occasional short story for submission.
Three of these, usually, on any given day, but still yeesh. At this rate it looks like I might turn into Seanan McGuire.
My weeping cherry is turned out to be a mutant. It's actually a hybrid of cherry and apple by the look of it, I'll post pictures at some point but for the moment there's a serious element of WTF that's an apple tree growing out of my cherry tree. I don't get it. I really don't. But all the flowers on my amaryllis have popped out, and my other amayrllis is pregnant. I'm calling it Astrid because parthenogenesis. Um. Plants seem to be going along well, if I can remind the boy that keeping the patio door closed is good because the cats like to chew on the plants. And hopefully this afternoon we can turn the soil on the bed, then fill it with mulch, and transplant tomorrow! WOOT. FOOD FROM THE GROUND. Whaaat. I like having a garden.
Also need to clean the house this weekend during my usual blogging time. It's not that messy but it could use some tidying, and then I can unpack some more stuff and mess it all up again. Yay!
