OI that was an infodump. AUGH. At least it's stuff that, while it won't always be so terribly prominent, will definitely come up. Especially in reading.

This? This is awesome. It also prompted me to look up just how many countries have a Sesame Street. Apparently? Way more of them than I would have thought! I vaguely remember there being something about broadcasting programs that had some kind of content Sesame Street usually has in the Arabic world, but I suppose that's been solved now. Really, the overall format is kind of awesome. The fact that it's gone all over the world just makes it more awesome. And now I get to go looking for Sesame Street in Russian, because it would so totally help the whole learning the language thing.

Restful weekend. Hopefully I shook the last of the ick and the bleh. And now, to take on the week, full steam ahead and damn the torpedoes and all. We can start by paying off my credit card (again) and ordering Tron Legacy. Ahem.

Thank god I'm doing a review after this. Eek.

Tonight, practicing Wish You Were Here and Beat the Devil's Tattoo and then I need to pick another guitar song to practice. And then probably rotate around those three for a few weeks, the rest of the month, something. I'm getting slowly better at them, and faster, but it's still not quite there yet. But it's still fun, which is pretty much the key point here.

It still kind of amazes me that I'm about to hit the end of chapter 6 in my Russian book; heading towards the next lesson and out of 20 lessons (10 in each book) that puts me at 80% done. With grammar and structure and then there's review and so on, but good goddamn. Probably by the end of the year or so I'll be able to start Irish, if not sooner. That will go by much quicker, because I don't actually have an Irish textbook to work from, it's all touristy books and teach yourself. Which is good, they just don't give me the sentences and practice I'd prefer. Might look into importing some. Irish, and then... What I'd really like is someone with a military connection telling me what they use for Arabic standard. Or Pashto or Urdu? I'm thinking I'm going to stick with Arabic Standard though. Or maybe I'll pick that up next and Irish later... something. Think think. The lack of Arabic languages is a pretty big gap, and Irish is a just-for-fun language, as opposed to a widen-my-area-of-communication one. Why yes, there are methods and goals to my madness. Sort of.

Anyway. Back to work. There's a free shipping sale on, which means things are (hopefully!) going to pick up and be a bit nuts here, and at least for today, so they have. We'll see how long this lasts. Mmm languages. Tastes of... something.

Oof. Now that I'm home and almost everything I needed to do today has been done, I'm having a serious case of the don' wannas. Blah.

On the other hand and the plus side and all of that, I suppose it's a good thing that I actually did do all of the stuff, or at least most of the stuff, that I needed to. I got my work done, I got exercise in, I got all my languages done, dinner, some knitting, and as soon as I get some guitar done there will be writing and editing and finishing and then turning in. Oogh. Not looking forward to the finishing and turning in part. Did I mention how much I hate editing and rewriting? I do. I got into the very bad habit of not doing any of it for the longest time, in part because I was scared that if I showed my writing to anyone I thought it would magically make it not be good anymore.

Seriously, editing is your friend, folks. No matter how onerous, annoying, or terrifying it is. Sometimes, that really didn't need to be there. Or something really was missing. One or the other.

Oof. Something else I don't want to do but should probably start thinking about: making sentences for review both for Japanese and German. Blahhhh. Double blah. Triple blah. Sigh and blah. Blah with a side of ugh. Blah blah meh and blah. Shaken, not stirred.

Okay, I need a nap or something.
