(no subject)
Apr. 18th, 2016 10:05 amWell those plans lasted all of a day into the April Starts thanks to
lemon_badgeress and
lireavue who finally managed to get me into cross-stitch. Whereupon I promptly collected... how many kits was it, in the end? nine? And a pile of Aida. We already sell floss at the store so no big deal there. And apparently I may be in the way of inheriting a pile of cross-stitch stuff from an Uncle's mother whenever they go back there or she makes it to a post office or something. Look, apparently I don't do things by half measures.
I spent the entire fucking weekend in a kind of a haze where I had a degree of executive function, I was at about three quarters energy, but there was this fuzzy wall between me and the kind of clarity and focus I used to have. I don't know what the fuck was up with that, but in addition to feeling like I got nothing done because I didn't do anything on the to-do lists I have, I feel like I got nothing done because my entire head was in a fog. I object to this in the strongest fucking terms, especially since I spent the entire weekend before stuck in sinus cold hell, and I wish it to fucking quit it.
Not that saying so convinces anyone's body to behave at all, but now it's on the record. So there.
My new stitch fix is on the way, which apparently means three tops, sandals, and a skirt. I don't know how I feel about the latter two but the program to get me into more actual blouses and fewer jeans and t-shirts is really really working. At this point I'm not sure if I need slacks or not, if I just need to stick with the fashion jeans, especially given that I work lifting and carrying. Something something. I might also start wearing more skirts, although the one that's coming in this week's stitch is a maxi and that's probably going to need hemmed and not be good for much of anything except lounging. Ah well.
In an attempt to eat healthier I got some sunflower seeds, honey roasted, to keep in my desk drawer at work to snack on instead of candy/chocolate. This may have been a bad idea holy damn. Can't. Stop. Snacking. I mean, I guess they're healthier? But augh. At least they're also high in protein.
What else what else. Other than needing to revise my April Starts and get started on edits and writes and other things. Um. And needing to organize my brain around what I need to write; getting behind on Nano early on was definitely one of the worse things I could have done, but it's only partly due to me screwing off. Fucking sinus cold. I think that's probably it. Taxes are paid, tax refund is received, deposited, and a chunk spent on cross-stitch oops. We're not saying how much it was. Not the entire refund, no. Not even half of it! But a chunk that makes me wince. No, okay, some of it on cross-stitch, and a bigger chunk on fixing my stupid broken bobbin winder on my sewing machine. So. Buuuut definitely being less spendy till I get my birthday money, which is pretty much permission to be This Spendy.
And at this point, fuckit, I'm rambling on enough, I'm going to revise my April Starts and get started with the day. If anyone wants pictures I may find somewhere to post an index of them rather than dump them all here because there's at least two pictures for each start, almost. Oops. (Wait, I have a web page. Duh, self.)
