So. They won't fix the boiler. Which means we are at least getting an inspector in the goddamn house. I want to know what else went wrong in there. I will say, after a quick couple back and forths with Realty Lady, the bid the bank got for the boiler replacement was on the extreme low end of boilers, so that gives me some hope that whatever's going on in there we can deal with it. As long as it's just the leak and the freaking boiler. But I want the damn inspector in so we can deal with this crap.

Still feeling somewhat shaky on routines, although Russian did get done this morning. It just got tossed up under lock because I had an entry in process and never got around to finishing it. Still haven't gotten writing done because I have a brain full of house logistics and no brain for any other kind of logistics, which, let me tell you, is incredibly fucking irritating. But I did get some writing done post-RP bit (my first RP in months! *tear*) and so that soothed that itch a bit. If I'm very very lucky, tomorrow some things will shake out and I can have a writing and packing weekend? Maybe? I keep saying that and it keeps not happening and I have some damn deadlines.

Oof. Tomorrow morning there will be people coming in to Do Things to the carpet. I have no idea what that will entail. This ought to be fun. I can't wait for it all to be over and settle back down again.

If they will not fix the boiler, ideally you will want to get them to take more than their estimate, or the cost of your estimate for replacement (not theirs), off the price of the house, rather than just "oh, the estimate is $5k to replace so we'll take $5k off the price of the house", because the bank will go with the lowest bidder, not with the quality work.

I suggested to our realty lady about 3x the cost of the bid, the boy suggested 4x. So, here's hoping. Fucking bank.

I am about ready to throttle this bank. I'm hoping that the bid is representative or at worse gouging rather than lowest-bidder, but it's still a pain in the ass and I still don't have my damn inspection report.
