And that's all the brain cells we have for tonight, folks.
Дети на этих дворах играли под присмотром гувернанток, пьяных жильцов извлекали из «мерседесов» и «БМВ» ко всему привычные телохранители, а мусор с английских газонов новые дворники подчишали маленькими немецки ми машинками.
The children in these yards played under the supervision of nannies, the drunken residents were extracted from their Mercedes and BMWs by bodyguards accustomed to dealing with anything, and the new yard keepers tidied up the English lawns with the little German machines.

No personal translation here because as I go slowly I'm actually more able to read it straight.
I actually got to bed a whole hour early last night! This after I realized my brain was so overloaded with house stuff and even work stuff that I couldn't actually sit down and write anything. I did two paragraphs and a drabble, and that's it. And that's actually it for the whole damn day, too. But there was rest, and now I feel somewhat better, and putting my German verbs book in my bag now so I stop fucking up the conjugations of all the cleaning verbs. I'm not sure if it's those verbs particularly or just the fact that I've been really tired these past few days. Probably a bit of both, the book didn't really go over the conjugation at all and at least one of them seems to be tricky.
By the by, for anyone learning a non-English language, I cannot recommend these 501 verb books highly enough. They are incredibly, incredibly useful. They conjugate verbs for you in MANY FORMS. I don't know if they exist in a non-English form, though. If they did from non-English to non-English it would also be useful! For people who are not me.
I slept! I actually got sleep! No massive piles of stress (except the boy saying he's worried we might not get the house, GEE THANKS.) and no attempting to hold fifty billion things to do in my head, none of that. Just sleep. And weird dreams about making new friends in pet stores outside of which a horse is misbehaving. What the hell was up with that. Big white draft horse like the kind that pull carriages in cities for people to have a brief fantasy sightseeing trip in.
So, today's writing: Black Ice's Subversive mummies and some BBM stuff, since the Triumvirate outline seems to be largely done. Maybe going through that and filling out the World-Building Leviathan a little more, but mostly Black Ice and BBMs. Then when I get home, Long Road and, guh, something else. Maybe Long Road and Triumvirate? And that'll be good enough for that. Today all the paperwork gets turned in on the house, I should hear something back from Realty Lady letting me know she's turned it in and then something when they sign it letting me know it's now under contract, so. All is... good?

Date: 2012-02-23 02:40 pm (UTC)and heh, there are verb conjugation books for people in Bulgaria studying foreign languages, too. (I used to have one for English, but that stayed with mum, and I have one for Spanish.) They are so-so useful to begin with, but once you know enough grammar to disentangle things, they are REALLY valuable reference. Ahem.
MMMM SLEEP! Rest is damn important, yes.

Date: 2012-02-23 03:03 pm (UTC)They really, really are. And, yeah, to begin with when it's all still a jumble of unfamiliar sounds and shapes, I'm not sure anything helps outside of a clearly laid out set of basics. And then after that.... om nom.
