Wie sagt man das?
1. Do you feel better today, Mr. Meier? Fühlen Sie sich besser heute, Herr Meier?
No, I don't feel well. Nein, ich fühle mich nicht wohl.
2. How did Astrid catch cold? Wie hat Astrid sich erkältet?
I don't know. Did she catch cold again? Ich weiß nicht. Hat sie sich wieder erkältet?
3. Lotte, why haven't you dressed yet? Lotte, warum hast du dich noch nicht anziehst?
It's still early. I'll get dressed later. Es ist noch (immer) früh. Ich ziehst mich später an.
4. Please sit down, Erna. Bitte, setzen sie sich, Erna.
Thanks, I'll sit on this chair. Danke, ich mich setze hier. (scheefink: oder 'hier her')
5. Are you interested in old films?
Yes, I'm looking forward to Casablanca on TV. Ja, ich freue (wo ist das verb??, remember) mich auf Casablance im Fernseher. Stop spelling it with random k's, Jag, that's just weird.
I question that word order on a couple of those. Severely.
So, yeah, bank holiday today, I haven't heard anything back on the house so I'm assuming their bank had a holiday today, too. Freaking bank-owned properties. I'm not even sure I'm that stressed about it right now, I'm just tired of it. The mess, the paperwork, all of it. I'm tired of being patient, I'd like to be done with it. Which is sad because if I remember right, this is actually a pretty fast timeline for the whole deal.
Other stuff. As much as I like tumblr it may, in fact, be bad for me, because now I can write endless drabbles that don't go anywhere. And I really, really need to not do that. Outlines, to be done! Well, both outlines done for the BBM, now I just have to finish bashing Triumvirate into shape. Which might not take as long as it seems, given how quickly that outline happened. Damn. Also, I seem to be politically cranky today.
All right, so, I just have going home, doing guitar, making dinner, and then all the writing and all the Jericho ever. I feel like I'm running the Red Queen's race again, and I'm pretty sure I have a good idea why, but that doesn't make me feel any better/easier about my ability to cope with doing all the things I mean to do. That said... mmph. No, I am keeping up fairly well. And it's time for a checkin post anyway, so that'll all go in there.
And so I don't forget, tonight's writing:
1. At least one scene in Long Road
2. At least one supplemental document for Black Ice
3. Finish the frakking Triumvirate outline
4. If there's still processing power left, some BBM drafts.

Es ist noch (immer) früh. Ich ziehe mich später an.
Noch immer/immer noch: not sure how to explain that best. A slight emphasis is on the first word, so it's still early becomes es ist noch immer früh, but very often you can use both.
4. setzen
Danke, ich setze mich hier (oder: hier her.)
5. Entweder: Bist du an alten Filmen interessiert? oder: Interessieren dich alte Filme?
Ja, ich freue mich auf Casablance im Fernsehen.

But, yes. Thank you! This was a very flaily exercise.

Date: 2012-02-21 03:40 pm (UTC)It is immensely harder than the textbook exercises. And takes longer. But I like the glee of being able to read through sentences in languages that completely confused me even a year ago, let alone three years ago.
