Pádraig: Dia dhuit, a Shéamais. Aon scéal?
Séamas: Diabhal scéal. Conas tá agat?
Pádraig: Go breá. Seo col ceathar dom, Máire Ní Mhurí. A Mháire, seo Séamas Ó Dónaill, deartháir Eibhlín.
Máire: Cén chaoi a bhfuil tú, a Shéamais?
Séamas: Tá áthas orm bualadh leat, a Mháire.
Pádraig: Tá Máireag fanacht linn faoi láthair.
Máire: Tá mé ag lorg post.
Séamas: Níl aon phost agat faoi láthair?
Máire: Tá mé ag obair mar rúnaí páirt-aimseartha.
Pádraig: An mbheidh deoch agat, a Shéamais?
Séamas: Ní bheidh, go raibh maith agat. Tá mé ag dul abhaile. Beidh mé ag caint libh arís.
Pádraig: Slán. Cad a bheidh agat, a Mháire?
Máire: Beidh gloine beorach agam, le do thoil.

Padraig: Hello, Seamas. Any news?
Seamas: Nothing new (lit. The devil a thing, I love that!) How are you/How are things? (lit. How do you have?)
Padraig: Fine. This is a cousin of mine, Maire Ni Murray. Mary, this is Seamas O'Donall, Eileen's brother.
Maire: How do you do, Seamas?
Seamas: Pleased to meet you, Maire.
Padraig: Maire is staying with us at present.
Maire: I am looking for a job.
Seamas: You don't have a job at present?
Maire: I work as a secretary part-time.
Padraig: Will you have a drink, Seamas?
Seamas: No/(Not for me?), thank you. I am going home. I'll be talking to you both soon.
Padraig: See you/Slan/Be well?. What will you have, Maire?
Maire: I'll have a pint/beer/glass of beer, please.

I debated not actually translating the 'Slan' because... argh cultural mapping. But, there, contextual translation. Pint used colloquially. Because I know I should translate one to one but I don' wanna.

Reveal happened! And now I can put that away for another year, which is probably a good thing. It was getting to the point of being a fairly long roller-coaster ride. Weird work schedules did not help at all. Routines are slowly coming back online, exercise is always the hard one to get back to previous efficiency. But I managed to get to bed on time! So there's that. Even if I'm still tired because it's freaking cold out and I'm cold and I want to curl up under my warm blankets.

Still pretty stoked about my Arabic books. Still pretty terrified of studying it. The current plan seems to be a couple hours on the weekend, nothing intensive just yet. Everything else as usual, which means I'm practicing five languages, which is still not something I'm thinking about too hard. Haven't yet panicked and completely stopped working on my novels, and it's only the second day of the new year, that's good, right? But there isn't any incoming today I think either by UPS or by mail, and I'm pretty sure there's no outgoing either. I think. So it should be a pretty relaxed day, in addition to the novel editing and planning stuff I have Juke Joint Jezebel to finish up and post the next section of, hopefully that'll go a little quicker now that Yuletide is over, and the BigBang Mixup to finish up and send off to my mixer and probably the mod, at this point, so my rough draft is turned in. Only three more scenes to go in that, should go easy.

Appointments made for to see houses! Not that that's terrifying or anything. Actually, if this is the house I think it is, it's really close to a grocery store, as in, walk down and over a couple blocks and you're at a grocery store, which would be nice. And... I don't know, stuff and things. I'm still working on getting back into routines. Really didn't want to get out of bed this morning.

Oh. And I did see the second promo for the incoming Once Upon A Time and feel less like demanding my playbook back. Seriously, though, if Rumplestiltskin has Glaucon's backstory, maybe not exactly but definitely in terms of his life/existence arc? I am going to headdesk this computer table into kindling.

Between Jane and Gold, that would be pretty robbersome.

*snuggles tight-tight* You didn't want to, but you did it anyway. And that is an amazing awesome thing!

They were going to catch up SOME time... I mean, not like it's exactly new. Some day, someone was going to find it fascinating, too.

Still.

There is so much sorcery going ALL around in Sherlock that it should pretty damn much work as diversion from Rumpel.

Temporarily.

All right, you'll decide for yourself, but their play is A-MAZING. Also, Sherlock likes his playthings. Most of the time, it's so hard to tell.
