Feminine and plural nouns do not add a genitive ending. The corrseponding articles, der-words, and ein-words end in -er in the genitive.

example: Kennst du eine Apotheke? Hier ist die Adresse einer Apotheke.
1. Kennst du eine Bäckerei? Hier ist die Adresse einer Bäckerei.
2. Und eine Metzgerei? Hier ist die Adresse einer Metzgerei.
3. Wo ist eine Drogerie? Hier ist die Adresse einer Drogerie.
4. Gibt es hier eine Buchhandlung? Hier ist die Adresse einer Buchhandlung.
5. Wo ist die Bibliothek? Hier ist die Adresse einer Bibliothek?



In the phrase おもしろい本　the い-adjective　おもしろい　qualifies the noun 本 and tells us what kind of book it is. You can also use sentences to qualify nouns. The sentences that are used as qualifiers of nouns are shown in the boxes below:

１．きのう買った本 the book [that I bought yesterday]
２．彼がくれた本 the book [my boyfriend gave me]
３．つくえの上にある本 the book [that is on the table]
４．日本で買えない本 the books [that you can't buy in Japan]

Qualifier sentences in these examples tell us what kind fo book we are talking about, just like adjectives. The verb used in such a qualifier sentence is in its short form, either in the present or in the past tense, and either in the affirmative or in the negative. When the subjet of the verb -- that is to say, the person performing the activity -- appears inside a qualifier sentence, the particle is が　and not は.

これは去年の誕生日に彼女がくれた本です。 This is a book that my girlfriend gave me on my birthday last year.
父はエイミータンが書いた本をくれました。 My father gave me a book that Amy Tan wrote.

私が一番かんとうした映画は｢生きる」です。 The movie I was touched by the most is To Live.



Part Two of Juke Joint Jezebel is up (link goes to the whole work) and has had an emergency error edited by one of my betas whoops no one saw that. I have also shipped all the things ever and now my legs hurt.

At this point ... you get an illustrated conversation in my head because it's much more fun that way. Today the part of Also Me will be played by Amber, music manager, coach, and all around tutor to up and coming artists. She's also the most prominent character in my head whenever I pick up the guitars.

Amber/Also Me: Yes you can. Come on, start with House of the Rising Sun, it's all arpeggios. Start with the Am...
Me: See? Slow.
Amber: That's because you just started. Do the first three chords.
Me: *fumbles through*
Amber: Now do them twice more.
Me: *grumps, fumbles through some more* Hey, I'm getting faster.
Amber: See? Now do the next three chords.
Me: ARGH FUCKING F
Amber: Oh, you're fine, you can do an F chord in your sleep. Now do all six, three times over.
Me: I hate you.
Amber: No you don't. Do Hotel California for ten, then we'll finish with Wish You Were Here.
Me: To remind me I really can do this?
Amber: Exactly.

I still prefer fingerpicks.

Oof. Got through a fairly hellacious day of shipping. Got through an evening of what was almost an angsty night of show watching, and instead turned into (for me at least) a night of pointing and laughing at interrogators who don't damn well know how to read their subjects. Take note, folks, even you in the cheap seats. The first thing a good interrogator needs to know is how to read the people you're interrogating, quickly and accurately. Knowledge of all the techniques in the world won't help you if you can't tell how and when to apply them.

I'm sure I had more to say at some point. I did pick up a lace knitting pattern that I think I will attempt, on account of the first lace knitting try didn't go so well. Which, actually, with the number of projects I'm stopping and taking off needles and counting as a learning experience to do this, works very well towards cutting me down! Net loss one project, net gain less scattermind.

Oof. I feel somewhat bad about not getting much more than a quarter of the writing done that I meant to, today, but you know what? It was a busy fucking day. Tomorrow will be better, and I will get up on time and I will make it better. So sayeth I.

*reminds* This mail order sale is ten days. (Unless things changed?) Technically, it's not over yet. You are allowed not to get all the writing done during mail order sale.

Good. So there. You did ALL your languages, and music, and work, AND a quarter of your writing? And knitting?

Yeah, I'd say you're on the overachiever curve. :P

And exercises, plus going back to stretches I haven't done in the morning in a while. So, um, yeah. >.> Sometimes I forget how much I do as a matter of course in any given day. I mean, if it becomes habit, at some point I'll have to figure out how to shift the focus back on writing but one day isn't going to kill me. Things to remember.

That's sort of the fridge brilliance of it, although originally it was just meant to be a cool-sounding title. But it is sort of the world where everything's okay on the surface, and then when you actually set foot in it it's deadly dangerous.
