1. Валя хорошо понимает, когда её преподаватели говорят по-английски? Да, потому что преподаватели говорят медленно и понятно.
2. Какой курс у Вали самый интересный? Политология.
3. Валя раньше понимала американскую избирательную систему? Нет. Никто не понимает американскую избирательную систему.
4. Как думает Валя, что изучает лингвист? Она думала, что лингвист -- кто знает много языков. Я не знаю, что она думает сейчас.
5. Какой курс Валя слушает по специальности? Валя слушает истории американских СМИ.
6. Где раньше работал её преподаватель? Он -- журналист.
7. Что думает Валя о курсе английского языка для иностранцев? Она думает, что на этот курс она попала по ошибке.

And then tomorrow, translating the other way around, fun. On the other hand, it is coming, slowly but surely, more quickly and more readily.


The levels of do not want to be awake are epic. Epic, I tell you. And I just took a look at what's incoming and oh god I don't want to go to work today and deal with that pile, I want to stay home and pull the covers over my head and roll out of bed at a leisurely hour and write. I don't wanna have a day job! I want to write for a living.

(You'll notice how I didn't say I don't want to work for a living. Just saying. Writing for a living is work, you know it, I know it, most of my flist knows it. But there are days when I really, really don't want to have to get out of bed at a certain hour to work for my living.)

If I'm doing this right, the edits to my OBB are actually coming along pretty well. I think I'm doing this right. There's a lot that isn't quite right that I'm going to let stand anyway because trying to bash it all out and make it even in two days would drive me up the wall and back down the other side, but I'm making all kinds of notes for future reference. And still, I think the second time around it's coming out much more polished and even and better. Which I guess is my lesson that it can actually work, and get my dumb ass back to Long Road, of which this is a part. The trick is still figuring out where the hell I am and what the hell I'm doing, now that it's kind of all in pieces. Maybe I'll work on that Thursday morning after the OBB is done and posted.

I do like the way, the more I do writing and reading and writing, the better and more solid it feels. And I know this is intuitive, 'duh' stuff, but somehow I've hit a point where it seems like I'm visibly improving, every work this past year has been a little bit better. I like that, as opposed to when I'm struggling for new ideas or better techniques and I get bored and irritated with my own stuff.

Putting the DVDs for sale here again, though if no one wants any of them in a few days I'll take them over to whatever thrift store does. $5 for a DVD, $10 for a season, should cover most shipping costs, all of these are Region 1:
