1. Stating your nationality and occupation.
These details remain permanent for most people (or they used to, heh) and therefore they must be introduced with is.
Is Éireannach mé. I am Irish.
Is múinteoir mé. I am a teacher.
Is feirmeoir (é) Seán. Sean is a farmer.
Is dochtúir (í) Máire. Maire is a doctor.
Is Gardaí (iad) Tomás agus Pól. Thomas and Paul are policemen.
Notice that a pronoun may be used even when a person's name is given: Is feirmeoir é Seán. (Sean he is a farmer.)
The pronouns meaning he, she, and they are é, í, and iad. When combined with a verb they become sé, sí, and siad, as you saw in lesson 1: Tá sé, tá sí, tá siad.
Tá sé ansin. He is there.
Tá sé anseo. He is here.
Tá sí ansin. She is there.
Tá sí anseo. She is here.
Tá siad ansin. They are there.
Tá siad anseo. They are here.
I really need an Irish dictionary at some point soon. I think the procedure here is going to be something like, do three chapters, review the snot outta 'em, do three more chapters. Because these are short chapters with very few exercises, and I know it's not going to stick.
I pushed to do longer sprints today instead of more, two long sprints instead of three shorter ones. Ow. I am getting smoother on

my Parkour course, though. And that's something. It's a bit of a blurry picture, but there you go. Rows up on rows of park benches. I run up and along the seat of one bench, down, up again. All over the benches. It takes me about two minutes, roughly, and I'm getting better on the dismount and faster overall, but it's way harder than you'd think. I think next up is going cross-ways. There's also some rails that I mean to vault over as soon as I have sweatpants that don't fall down my hips for running. There's also some

steps I go up and down, if there's time.
Of course, now I'm exhausted. And in dire need of a superhero training icon, I almost think.
Am rewatching Haven, and finished catching up on Warehouse 13, and I don't even know what to think of what W13 did. It made me sad. But at the same time they were heading towards all those dark places, so I can't say I'm surprised, but it made me incredibly sad. Rewatching Haven is reminding me how demented that show is sometimes. Just in terms of the sheer weirdness it comes up with. Also watching bits and pieces of Alphas, and David Strathairn is awesome. Pity about the rest of the show.
I put in my Blu-Ray drive last night, almost all by myself. Which is to say, the boy did the part I already know how to do, popping off the case and prying out the expansion bay slot, and I plugged it in and made all the connections, sprayed down the inside with air. Closed it back up and booted up and it worked fine! I tried it with VLC though, and that didn't work, so I sucked it up and actually installed the software that came with it like a good girl. And, yes, it worked fine. So, yeah. I kick ass. And I apparently can learn this whole hardware thing.
