4. Making invitations: You already know several ways to make invitations, such as: Ты не хочешь пойти на вечер? Would you like to go to a party? and Давайте пойдём на фильм. Let's go to a movie.

It is also possible to use the Russian verb приглашать/пригласить -- to invite

Настя, мы с Эллиотом хотели бы пригласить тебя на американский праздник. Nastya, Elliot and I would like to invite you to an American holiday.

The following imperfective imperatives are considered to be invitations:

Входи(те)! Заходи(те)! Проходи(те)! Come in.
Раздевайся! (Раздевайтесь!) Take your coat off. (Let me take your coat.)
Садись! (Садитесь!) Have a seat.
Приходи(те) в гости! Come for a visit. (to someone in your town)

1. To someone in your town
a. We would like to invite you to our place for dinner on Sunday. Мы хотели бы пригласить тебя/вас у нас в субботу.
b. We would like to invite you to our dacha on Sunday. Мы хотели бы пригласить тебя/вас на нашу дачу в воскресенье.
c. We would like to invite you to the movies on Tuesday. Мы хотели бы пригласить тебя/вас в кино в вторнике.
d. Let's go to the library tomorrow. Давайте будем пойти в библиотеку завтра.
e. Would you like to go to a party on Friday? Ты не хочешь пойти на вечеринку в пятницу?
f. Come for a visit this evening. Приходите в гости вечером.

2. To someone from another city
a. We would like to invite you to visit us in June Мы хотели бы пригласить тебя/вас приезжать в юние.

I am going to be all AUGH DRAGON*CON AUGH until it's actually here. I swear to dog. I'm reasonably prepared, I have everything largely ready to go and the chunk of it that isn't packed is either day clothes that I'll pack tomorrow or stuff we'll pick up at a drug store on the way there, and I'm still freaking out. Still feeling pretty good about going in costume, though.

The guest list isn't fluctuating quite as bad as I'd expected, even if Bruce isn't coming and it still makes me sad. My autograph list has actually been cut down fairly considerably, which means more money for shinies yay! I have no idea what's going to happen apart from perusing the Walk of Fame, either, but there's a panel entirely devoted to Mark Sheppard. I need to attend that. This is my new secondary mission for Dragon*Con, since I don't get to glomp Bruce like a lamprey. Go poke Mark Sheppard.

Oogh. After DragonCon, all the routines will resume. All of them. And I'll need to figure out writing things and language things and exercise things since the daylight time is all shifted and and and. There is a lot of and. I did get some sewing last night and a bunch of tidying, no checking in though, argh need to do that. Need to organize thoughts. Not working.
