To receive something is: получать/получить
получаю, получаешь, получает, получаем, получаете, получают
получу, получишь, получит, получим, получите, получат

Russian has three prepositions that correspond to the English from. They are used in different grammatical environments, as shown below.
От кого вы получили письмо? From whom did you get a letter?
От бабушки. From my grandmother.

Откуда эти письма? From where are these letters?
Из России и с Аляски. From Russia and from Alaska.

The concept of "from" is part of a general scheme of "to-at-from" (or куда-где-откуда) which we can represent graphically:

people: куда = (к) кому, (к) другу, где = у кого, у друга, откуда = от кого, от друга
в words: куда = во что, в магазин, где = в чём, в магазине, откуда = из чего, из магазина
на words: куда = на что, на работу, где = на чём, на работе, откуда = с чего, ч работы
other words: куда = домой, где = дома, откуда = из дома
куда = сюда, где = здесь, откуда = отсюда
куда = туда, где = там, откуда = оттуда

And back on the horse. Stupid brainweasels, but I think that's mostly settled now. Again. Something. Now or again.

Slowly bashing words out. First on Kink Bingo, and then I think tonight if I can get my routines back in order, on the Big Bangs that I need to do. Contacted the artist who contacted me over the con weekend, eep. Things to do.

Most of it writing. Kink Bingo and Big Bangs, but also getting back to banging on Long Road. And edits of Kink Bingos and Big Bangs. That ought to keep me busy and not thinking too hard about the con, which I'm actually getting over surprisingly easily/well. The only thing I have to worry about now is Dragon*Con and getting through that without making a fool of myself. Which at least will be familiar territory, familiar procedure, and all around easier.

New schedule starting tonight. We'll see how that goes. And, god, I need to put band-aids on all my fingers today so my cuticles don't get shredded anymore. I'm getting really tired of bleeding from the base of my fingernails.
