kittydesadeWatching Gormenghast makes my brain weird. And the things that come out of my mouth called words even weirder. But I got it for my birthday which makes me happy. Which reminds me... HEY! APRIL! LOG ON! I miss you...
Back from the mall and the bank. Now have almost a grand in my account, which is a nice change from the less than a hundred I had a week ago. Now that I have money and therefore fewer worries I need to find a job. Weird how that spirals like that.
But anyway. Went out to the bank and then the mall. Did a lot of shopping with actually very little of Getting Things I Do Not Need. I can't remember who said it a day or to ago (Mir? You?) But they were right. Now that I have Money I find myself also with a very long list of Things I Want.
I do not need fifty of Jonas Kane, no matter how cool the mini is.
I do not need twenty pairs of cheap earrings I will never wear.
I do not need a ton of Reaper paints because I have a ton of Vallejo paints, some colors I will undoubtedly still have until the Apocalypse because I use them so little. The only color I am missing is purple, and since they don't sell Vallejos at Nord's I don't need to buy paints from that store.
I do not need all the Matrix figures.
I do not need a lot of Agent Smith figures. No matter how fun the clone battles might be.
I do not need to start collecting every last issue of The Dreaming.
I do not need tons and tons and tons of miniatures. I can buy them a few at a time and still have just as much fun painting them. And that way the to-paint pile looks more manageable.
I do not need clothes (I have plenty), books (there's the library right down the street), stupid films (Peter Pan being the sole exception) with Vin Diesel, Ron Perlman, or whatever other crush of the week in, jewelry, cookies, action figures, or fun knives.
I do need: Acetone and a box cutter or x-acto or something with which to cut fleck off of minis. That is all I need.
Anyway. Went to Nords. Found out that the figures I needed are almost all buy-1-get-1. Went a bit nuts with those, but at least I have some extras now to paint in case the first one goes wrong. Finally got some minis glue. Also got a few extra minis just 'cause. Got a few more hair ties of the sort that aren't 100 to a pack and therefore of the sort I won't lose. And got my grown-over ear re-pierced, which made a certain silly someone ridiculously happy. I swear, he looked very much like the flamboyant guy from Will and Grace. He went all camp. It was funny. Am now also in possession of two big bottles of ear-care stuff. Go figure. I could have just used peroxide.
And now I am off to eat before I fall over.
