Es gibt is an impersonal expression meaning there is or there are. It is followed by the accusative case, which mostly means jack shit unless you've got an article by it.

Prepositions. Ew.

The objects of durch, für, gegen, ohne, and um are always in the accusative case.

Oof. These next few days are going to be absolutely fucking insane, and I think it's the chaos that I'm not looking forward to more than anything. I get on a bus tomorrow, travel for six hours or so, directly after work, I have no time to sit down and relax. Not looking forward to that. On the other hand, I did schedule in mostly an afternoon to relax and sleep and rest up post con, wind down, so there's that. It is definitely always smart to schedule some wind-down time post-con because whether you have a good time or a bad time, dear lord it'll be insane.

... And following Misha's tweet, I wonder how many people will be wearing laceup shoes. I won't be. I'm going to be wearing my fucking Pam boots goddammit.

Anyway. At least I got some writing done last night. I have to remember to charge all my devices tonight. And pack. Christ, I should go down my con checklist. We are getting so electronic as a society, the US, I am packing so many damn electronics it is unbelievable. And cords. Why am I packing so damn many cords? Something else to organize and figure out, although, heh, I guess I probably won't need to pack my kindle cord since I'll only be going for a few days and out of those, won't be spending much more than the bus ride reading. And that thing charges and lasts for freaking ever. ... Why am I trying to organize this right here right now? Something to organize when I get to work, at least in my head.

Goddammit, Hiddleston, why are you such a fucking woobie? You break my heart just by blinking and looking soulful.

Work. Maybe I can manage to be less scatterbrained today. Maybe I can manage to see Pirates tonight, which would be really nice. I want to actually see that damn movie now that friends of mine have seen it and said it wasn't bad, and Ian McShane was good. Because really. Let's not kid ourselves here. I'm going to see it because it'll be pretty, because Jack Sparrow will be amusing, and because Ian McShane will devour all the damn scenery. ALL OF IT. Ahem. No scintillating nuanced plots or anything. Ian McShane. Hamming it up. I have low standards.
