Oh TSO. Is it physically possible for you ever not to be awesome.

So, the concert went well. And by well I mean my throat is somewhat strained today from all the screaming. Good thing my job doesn't involve much talking. They had a bunch of the old guard there, the usual narrator Bryan Hicks did many voices this time, and it was incredible. The man is very talented and skilled. Skolnick wasn't there, I don't think, but we did have ... was it Middleton on bass? And Mee Eun Kim on keyboards again. Kinkel wasn't there! I had a sad. I miss that guy, he was a sweetie. I think the last time I saw him he was dueling keyboards with Mee Eun Kim, which was hilarious. Especially because it devolved into Peanuts. And Al Pitrelli who I just realized I haven't actually seen on stage since Savatage. Wow old. That was, um. Almost ten years ago. House of Blues Chicago. Damn.

So, yes. There was that. Chris Caffrey is still love, Chris Caffrey plus Al Pitrelli is hyperactive, goofy, awesome love. I'm so, so glad I went. I'm glad I was healthy enough to go! We went out for tasty Indian food beforehand, and I had a bit to drink, and then there was supposed to be delicious cake but between getting into the place and so on there just wasn't time. C'est la vie. The boy will bring the cake to Tuesday game, which is closer to the appropriate birthday anyway.

Oh! And! I'm reading Moon Called by Patricia Briggs and, out of the four books that I got in that particular lot of bookbuying? So far, this is the first actual one I like! And want to keep reading! (The other two, for record, were Poison Study by Maria Snyder and Kitty and the Midnight Hour by someone I can't remember. I hated them. HATE. I'm sure if I re-read the first couple of chapters I could remember some specific reasons why. I remember I hated Poison Study because it did way less showing and way more telling, nothing was convincing, and I saw 2/3 of the plot developments a mile off; I know because I skipped to the end and everything pretty much happened as I expected. Also the bo/bow spelling swap BUGGED THE FUCK OUTTA ME.) But! Patricia Briggs also = love! I'm also finally reading EBear's stuff, after persistent yet patient nagging by [personal profile] lireavue.

Oof. Right. Calming down, heading to work, and ploughing through a day of sale weekend backlog. Not. Looking. Forward. There will be a sushi reward, count on it.
