New York habe ein groß U-Bahn.
mit der Bahn/mit dem Zug. Asheville habe kein Zug. Charlotte hat ein Zug.
mit dem Schiff. Man fährt mit dem Schiff aus Copenhagen am London.
Das Flugzeug. (Man fliegt.)
And then a lot of vocab.
Gel pens really do make a lot of things better. Up to and including vocab quizzes. They have not yet managed to make query letters better, though, and should really work on this.
Although since I started this post I have actually written most of a query letter that I hope did not suck. I think. I hope. This part of the process makes me less nervous than it used to, I think mostly because now I'm operating under an assumption of nothing happening. But it's still annoying. I'm not at all good at selling myself. Shut up, peanut gallery.
I need mirin. Which means a grocery store run is happening this evening, because the only places that sell mirin are either a bit of a hike from work (which is more doable now that it's getting warmer) or past where I live on the road between here and home, or completely in another part of town. Which is still doable, but it's also not at the grocery store we do our regular grocery shopping on weekends or whatever day the boy and I can both go. And all of this by way of saying, I wonder if Amazon has mirin under their subscribe and we'll ship it to you service. I'd like to get it local if I can, but part of me also thinks that would be a useful thing to have on a two-month subscription. Three month? I have no idea how quickly I go through it, other than not quickly. Oof. No, of course it isn't. Neither is miso. Well, there goes that idea. ... You know, I'd much rather have mirin and miso and maybe hoisin sauce or something on subscribe and save than Pop-Tarts. Or sweet chili sauce.
Oh well. Buying local is better for you anyway. Still, I'm kind of intrigued by the idea of paying periodically for groceries you'd pay periodically for anyway, and then they ship them to you. And you can cancel or change your ship dates any time. I may have to poke at this some more.
