Song lyrics!
KMFDM
Glück ist nicht käuflich sehnsucht bleibt unerreicht (too complicated for me...)
Lola Rennt
(This works better when you actually see me poking at the meanings of the songs, but I'm too lazy to copy the translations.)
Comment with “SHOWTIME!” and I will give you ten actors and ten actresses. Then post in your journal-of-choice with your favorite films of theirs.
1. Johnny Depp. Duh. Pirates of the Caribbean. Duh. ;)
2. Chris Evans (or Willem Dafoe, whichever you find more interesting) Cellular, actually. (Willem Dafoe, Boondock Saints, yes.)
3. Anthony Hopkins ... fuck. Um. ... Silence of the Lambs, since I'm trying not to duplicate movies.
4. Antonio Banderas Oh hell. Frida? or House of the Spirits
5. Tim Roth Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
6. ... *ducks* Christian Bale It's really sad how many movies of his I have. Little Women.
7. Heath Ledger Roar, for his work in general.
8. Dustin Hoffman Stranger Than Fiction
9. Marlon Brando Island of Dr. Moreau
10. Armand Assante The Mambo Kings. Close Runner Up: Judge Dredd, for the sheer ridiculousness.
1. Jane Fonda I've... never actually seen anything with Jane Fonda in it. *checks* Yeah, nope. Nothing. Michelle Pfeiffer LADYHAWKE
2. Judi Dench Oh dear lord... Casino Royale. Just for "Christ, I miss the Cold War" and everything else.
3. Helen Mirren Calendar Girls, oh dear god.
4. Penelope Cruz
5. heck. Katharine Hepburn Lion in Winter. Natch.
6. Emma Thompson Much Ado About Nothing, still
7. Julianne Moore Oddly (or maybe not), Assassins

30. Final question! Tag someone! And tell us what you like about that person as a writer and/or about one of his/her characters!
13. What's your favorite culture to write, fictional or not?
I think... surprisingly, I think back-country mountain culture, in a way. Specifically around-this-area mountain culture. Mostly because I love it, the song, the storytelling, the crafts, the dogged stubbornness, the general calm, the appreciation of beauty, the... slightly left of center-ness. The storytelling. The mysticism, whether of the christian or pagan variety, the close community thing, small town atmosphere, and did I mentioned the storytelling?
Failing that, fantastic cultures I make up are always kind of awesome. This is what happens when you're an anthropology geek.
Oogh. Did get a bunch of writing done today. Did not... something. I had a brain, but it went away. Did not get any sewing done. Did get the last of my shopping for costume pieces done, and got some triangle sponges for my arm makeup and some other stuff. I guess in the end of it all, getting my languages and routines and writing done is still a win, considering it was a Monday. Tomorrow, shipping, writing, and carding the damn wool that's been sitting in the classroom for ages so I can use it to practice drop-spindling. Because, seriously, yo. That needs to happen a lot.
