I often ski and play tennis, among other things.

やさいや果物が好きです。
I like vegetables and fruit, among other things.

どこでよく勉強しますか。
Where do you often study?
図書館やがくせいかいかんでよく勉強します。
I often study in the library and the student union, among other places.

や is used for a list of representative examples, whereas と is used to give an all inclusive list.

Answer the following questions, using either や or と
1. しゅうまつに　どこに　よく　行きますか。
レストランや映画に行きます。
２．どんな　本を　よく　読みますか。 (Dammit. And me without my dictionary.)
スペイン語の本やフランス語の本をよく読みます。
３．今日は何時に授業がありますか。
ロシア語と日本語の授業があります。
４．どんな音楽をよく聞きますか。
クラシックやロックをよく聞きます。
５．どこで昼ごはんを食べますか。
「store, damn, forgot the vocab]とレストランと家で昼ごはんを食べます。
