kittydesadeI really need to remember that waking up at 7 am is bad when one's bedtime is 2 am. More to the point, whatever subconscious forces are making me wake up at that time need to remember it.
Yesterday was more fun than I thought it would be. Writing group was small, only four of us, two of whom could actually write. The fourth... well, she suffers from the problem a lot of anthropologists share. Too much tech and not enough writing in their tech writing. Still. Not too bad, in all. We had a little bit of discussion on various topics, I read two stories of mine, Distraction and With A Little Help From My Friends. Thereby introducing them to the concept of what I called 'metafiction' so I don't sound like a complete nutter because I talk to my characters. Besides, it was a story, anyway. I never said I actually do it.
And then I rummaged through the library for likely books. Goddess help me, I got out the third Mercedes Lackey/Andre Norton Elf book. It's about as ... cheap thrill as I expected. And I got a couple Stephen King, the second Kate Elliot book, and fairy porn. I mea, Laurell K. Hamilton's Merry Gentry book. But it's really fairy porn.
Aaand. I need to post more short stories, work on creating an index page to my writing journal, and... and ooh. Hmm. Argh. Okay. I'll work on that today. Ahem. Getting distracted still. Wandering off now.
