(no subject)
Feb. 26th, 2004 10:32 pmWell, I finished the
talespinning challenge. And by now I know those of you who know me are thinking 30,000 words in a week? That's not a challenge! Well, I started two or three days late. So nyah.
And now the community moderator is asking what we should do with this writing community. And you know what I say? Let it die.
It's a fact of LiveJournal that's starting to become more and more depressing to me lately. We start up writing communities, we're all gung-ho about them for a day or a week or two months if we're lucky. And then they die. They go quiet, no one writes or posts or comments on anything. All of them. Maybe one in the five, six, eight I've seen start up actually make it past their third month. Hell, mine didn't make it past its first day.
And I really don't think
talespinning is either. There's not enough membership and there's not enough stamina. I'm going to dissolve my writing community, and I think
talespinning should take its victory and quietly retire, exit stage left.
