Russian! Also, man. I have had Blackmore's Night's Home Again on ... almost since I got home from the farm. Mixed with other things but that's the one that always gets me bouncing around the room.

Mary! Who is in this photograph?
My brother [lit. 'brother']
And this?
That's my sister. Her name is Carol. She's two years younger than me.
And what's your brother's name?
Jason. He goes to school, in the eleventh grade. He really likes it.
He must be very cheerful, probably? (Best construction I can come up with?) He is, probably, very cheerful? (It's a lot easier to come up with these things when you're not running out the door.)
You know, he isn't very. He is very serious and nice.

And mostly semantic translations
Frank! They say that in the states there are big families. Is that true?
How do I say this... there are some small, some large. My family, for example, is small: me, my father, my mother. I have no sisters or brothers.
What does your father do for a living?
My father? He is an instructor in International Relations at university.
And your mother?
My mother is a nurse. She works at hospital. She likes it very much.

Vanessa! Who is in this photograph?
This is my grandmother, and this, my grandfather.
They don't look very old at all! How old are they?
She is sixty-five. And he is seventy. Grandmother and grandfather are retired. They live in Florida. They are very healthy and energetic. They like sports.
Interesting. We don't have many such grandmothers and grandfathers.

Argh. And now, I get dressed, grab lunch, and RUN out the door. But, godDAMN I am actually starting to be able to just read this without stopping except for new vocab. Holy CRAP. It only took me a year, but that was a year of only doing this for maybe twenty minutes a day and holy CRAP.

Ahem. *dashes off to work*
