Oct. 19th, 2009 02:31 pm... well, that was by far not the worst news ever, although it is still kind of 'meh.'
So, the mental clinic appointment has been postponed in order to take care of thsis heart problem. He went in today to be hospitalized and medicated preparatory to 'rebooting' his heart, as Aunt E puts it. The only problem was that his blood was now too thin instead of ... too thick? I don't know. And his heart rate (resting, I guess) was down to 70 bpm (I also guess) rather than up at 140 where it was. So they've told him to take a lot of Vitamin K, and he is apparently feeling better than he has in months. Go figure.
And, you know. Being put on blood thinners isn't exactly a rest of your life solution, but it sounds like that if this is making him feel better, strengthening the heart muscle is the way to go about fixing it. Especially if it fixes the mental problems too, which are now starting to sound like more the absent-mindedness that comes from being overtired.
I feel better. I'm overtired myself, not sure why. I got the usual amount of sleep last night. At least work isn't terribly busy, and as far as writing goes, I actually don't have nearly as much on my plate as I usually do. Go me.
Still hoping to head back to DC after the Christmas retail lunacy is over. Till then, this is good ish news.
