"We hates it! We hates it forever!"
Jan. 28th, 2004 09:26 pmMy efforts to write erotica were abruptly hampered due to a sudden onset of menstrual cramps. I hate my female body sometimes. Especially when I abruptly find myself in need of a pad changing and all the pads are in the bathroom the boyfriend is currently occupying. Smellily. I do like chili for dinner, but that was not an opportune time.
Anyway.
So, I went out and spent my windfall today. I picked up the 2004 Writer's Market itself and have since flipped through the Query Letter Clinic and a couple of other articles (worth it just for those). I also, since it was less than I'd expected, picked up a book entitled The Sell Your Novel ToolKit which looks very useful from what I've flipped through. And then I went to the used bookstore and picked up Chicken Soup for the Writer's Soul, just in case of a bad day, and an Anne Perry paperback. Just because it was all cheap and entertaining and/or useful.
And I picked up another bookmark. This one a quote by Anais Nin which, since it's performing its function at the moment and I don't want to dig it out, I can't quote exactly. Something about dreams being essential to life. That was not my idea actually, that was
oldestbeloved's, go figure. I think all of my bookmarks are going to wind up being dream related somehow. And considering a lot of my best stories are based on dreams, perhaps it's fitting.
Pffff. Hate period. Urge to rip out uterus rising. Oh well. Back to work.
