kittydesadeHad a brief qualm today about my ability to do this whole courtean school stuff, mostly brought on by a massive fit of do not want to exercise and a bagel with cream cheese breakfast. Then I remembered that, of all things, I have not yet missed a damn day of dance exercises. Which is pretty impressive, for me. Diet wise, also, I'm not doing half as bad as I could be with avoiding the junk food. So, yeah, I can do this.
Did, however, wake up with some sort of ridiculous pain in my back, lower left area. Not quite sure what it is but pounding on it with a couple gallons of hot water seems to have helped. Yay first shower and first access to the hot water heater.
Ugh. Sleepy. Don't want to do my Russian, want to go back to bed. Which is a bit ridiculous since I got a good 7 hours of sleep last night. I've been up for almost two hours.

Ugh. Okay, now I'm awake, but my brain is starting to leak out my ears hunting and pecking on the keyboard. I'll finish translating the rest tomorrow morning and try and make up a couple more dialogues on my own; the repetition may help. It'll certainly help with the vocabulary.
I can't believe it's Thursday already. And ... good gods, I can't believe we're two weeks into Courtesan school already. A bit past the first flush of new ideas and new challenges, it seems like we're doing pretty damn well. Putting our shoulders to the boulder and giving it a good steady heave. Maybe not doing so so well with courtesanly grace and bearing up under pressure, myself included, but I think that takes even more time than the weight loss, probably. And some of us are contending with bigger problems in that area, and all of us are making progress doing things we don't want to do with grace and dignity. Go us!
I suppose this means it's time to pack up and get ready to ... be picked up, really. Is it snowing? Did it snow? No, of course it didn't. We were supposed to get a lot of snow. Of course, nothing. I think I saw maybe thirty flakes last night. Dandruff snow. For about ten minutes. At least it feels more like winter today.
