Okay, I take it back. There are two things I do like about today, Election Day in the US.
1) We have the freedom to vote. We can cast a ballot and register our opinion as to who gets to be in power. The election may not always go the way we want, but we do have the option of arguing our case and making our vote. That isn't the case in a lot of countries. I don't know what percentage of the world is able to make a decision, however tiny, that adds up to one big decision about who gets to be in charge, but we are. And that means a lot to me.
2) A lot of people are exercising that freedom. A whole lot. More than, certainly, I've ever seen before. A lot of people for the first time in a long time, maybe for the first time in their lives, are getting fired up to believe that they can make a difference. They have hope. They have spark. And whatever side they're on, that's a hell of a lot of something. Something that I believe to be good. Whatever changes they're hoping for, hope in general is good.
So, yeah. Now I'm going to go back to hiding. Do the dragon thing. And if you're a US citizen, GO VOTE.
Oh, and happy early Guy Fawkes. May your fireworks not be painfully loud and aggressive.
