AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUGGGHHHHHH!!!!!
That is all. The somewhat longer version:
So, the first phone call I take this morning, because I was just folding up the post mail packing slips and I can do that while on the phone, was a problem child.
Dear Hand-Holdee,
Sure, I can tell you how much of what chemical you need to do marbling, but you'll have to wait until I look it up on the instruction sheet online. I haven't marbled anythign in, literally, twenty years. Mind you, in the same amount of time you could have looked up the damn thing for yourself and then picked out your colors and ordered online, but...
What was that? You want me to pick out colors for you? Hell to the no. We have at least five different types each of red, blue, yellow, and green, and I am not figuring out whether you prefer a blue-shade red or a yellow-shade red, or what. Now, you do need the Alum, but if you'd rather be spared the expense of getting some of those paints and everything else we can...
What was that? You don't want our handy dandy Marbling Kit for $29 that comes with everything you need but the pan and the paper/cloth? You'd rather instead pick out the cheapest colors you can find and buy two 4oz of Alum and... wow. That costs $29.12. You wasted twenty minutes of my time when I could have been getting out the mail, to spend the same amount of money and get less stuff and then probably whinge about how you need more stuff later?
You are so lucky the mailman hadn't come yet.

The Shipping Kitty
Dear Idiot Who Can't Read,
There is a difference between the following two sentences.
"We will be able to ship today if you get back to us by 3pm EST."
"We will ship today by 3pm EST."
Reading comprehension: Get some. And then do not call us back two days later going "OMG WHERE'S MY STUFF? WHERE'S MY TRACKING NUMBER?" It is quite possible I will respond with an only barely polite version of "OMG, WHERE'S MY ANSWERS!" Get back to me. Then I will ship.
(The less ranty version, she said she needed it "in a hurry" but declined to tell us how much she was willing to pay for that hurry. The prices ranged from three-ish days at a reasonable cost with tracking to overnight at a fucking ridiculous cost with tracking. I gave her the range of options, and then heard nothing back.
Cirque du Soleil did this to me too. Just saying.)
No love,
Shipping Kitty
On the plus side, I have about an hour left to tool around and work on my novel. So there's that. And then I get home and at least try to finish cleaning the damn apartment. The only thing I should have to do for dinner tonight is toss the meat and the veggies in the pan, fry the whole damn thing, and make rice. Go marinades. I'm going to do that every damn week of hte mail order sale, and/or make a batch of spaghetti sauce the weekend before.
Gods, so tired. I think I actually have a stress fever. On the plus side, Criminal Minds and CSI: NY tongiht. This will be my first CSI: NY with having cast Carmine Giovinazzo as a character in Black Stone Rising. That ought to be interesting.
