kittydesadeToday is just a day of successes all the way around. I have successfully achieved an outline last night. I successfully achieved getting my cute little butt out of here on time this morning, something I haven't quite been able to do the past two weeks (usually I'm 5 minutes late). I successfully achieved what seemed like a monumental day of shipping, and tonight I have successfully achieved both grocery shopping and Honey Chicken Stir-Fry. Which I like because my initial attempt at Honey Chicken Stir-Fry involved way too much honey and not enough of just about anything else. 3/4 cup honey, 2 teaspoons sweet chili sauce, and that's it. I like honey too, but, jeez.
Yesterday I also had a successful Nano meetup *waves to her new friend!* and met five wonderful ladies who are sharing in the madness with me. I didn't get too too much done writing/planning wise, but we talked a lot and socialized and it was probably a much-needed break. Also it looks like a good place to get food, albeit somewhat pricey food. I think I'll have to be feeling a bit more affluent to go there. We did, however, discover an almost universal love of sushi, which means that not the next meeting but the one after that will be at a place that has sushi. Mmmm sushi.
I did, however, have an interesting moment of awkward. I went to the cafe, expecting to see a bunch of people on laptops. I did see a bunch of people around a laptop, which I thought was probably the next likeliest thing, so I went over to them. And I got about as far as "Excuse me, is this the..." before I saw the mass of Palin stickers and the disbelieving look as though I was something scraped off the bottom of their shoe.
Yeah. Palin, if you want to win votes, just a suggestion. Don't teach your supporters to be stuck-up little bitches. It does not win friends or influence people.
Oh, who am I kidding. She and McCain will never get my vote, nor take that advice.
And, yay! The recipe has boyfriend approval, so it can be inscribed. Along with my Sweet and Sour Chicken recipe, which was also successfullycast made the other day. Why yes, I'm really getting into this whole cooking thing. I don't know if the honey chicken can successfully be made with anything but tofu, though. It might work on veggies tempura.
Stealth winter was stealthy! Christ in a bucket, it got cold fast. I went to work this morning and it was pretty cold, so I was wearing a long-sleeved shirt and t-shirt on under my jacket. I got out today and not only was it cold it was also really damn windy, and as the aunt and I got out of the grocery store it had started to snow. Our default setting now is going to be that they pick me up from the apartment complex, just in case, to save me walking across potentially icy roads and such. Oogh.
Right. Heroes, and then probably working on some more Nano stuff before I crash. Gah, I feel so productive!
