Jan. 31st, 2007 03:30 pmI'm trying two scents today, mostly because the first one faded by the time I got home from work. The first one I tried was Hemlock, and while not bad? Was vaguely pine-y. And if I ever need to do a necroscopy or work with human remains again, or, really, any kind of smelly archaeology... I'll know what to use. It's something I would put on so I don't smell the stink. Better than Tiger Balm under the nose, anyway.
London... smells like sparkling apple cider and gentlemen. There's no other way for me to put that, which is why this isn't a review, it's just an observation. It smells like gentlemen. Like walking on Wandsworth Common after the rain. Like heading down to the nearby pub whose name I can't remember, it was small and cozy, for a cider. A beer-type cider, not a sparkling apple cider. But still. It smells like coming back to the house after running home in through the rain, getting a little dry while on the train, then running through the rain some more. It smells like all the happy memories of London, which I do have some, even if my boyfriend at the time was a fucking psycho.
This is definitely a bottle. It's also possibly a work scent, along with Ladon and maybe one or two others I have yet to find. But that... I wanted to like London. I didn't expect it to smell like this? But I'm glad it does.
And now I'm going to go look at the ingredients list to see why it smells like apple cider and gentlemen.
Schedule Note: I have game this weekend, Friday and Saturday, the 2nd and 3rd. Friday I won't be online, Saturday I will be answering sporadic tags.
Today will be a day of usefulness and productivity. I had a headache all day yesterday, which. ARGH. So irritable by the end of the day due to not having done anything and the headache not fucking going away. I have no idea if it was because of Jezebel or not. I may try a small drop of Jezebel in a few days to see if that's what caused it? And then wash it off real quick if I do get a headache. But I may also be blaming it because I smelled like a sticky pastry instead of a sensual, dangerous woman. Bah.
But, yes. Today I plan on: writing, sewing. The coat is on hold indefinitely, which is to say until I can get lining for it. BAH. I need 10 bloody yards, and that's going to be somewhat expensive. Which means I need a coupon. I am not spending my gift cards until I start shopping for Faire fabric. Which will probably be pretty soon, actually. But, yeah. Um. Blathering. So, coat on hold till I get a coupon for some fabric, and then I will purchase lining. Writing will continue. Sewing will commence on bodices, 'cause if I start on them now I should have some that fit well by Faire, dammit. I always do bodices at the last minute for Faire, and that stops this year.
Also today: Writing in my pillow book (my form of meditation), cleaning a bit. Whee productivity! Must remember to schedule time to do my taxes before I put them off till April again.
