Oh yeah. It's that time again.
You know what I'm talking about. Actually, I do think most of you really do know what I'm talking about. November, the month that for me has become the month of hell. The month of OhmygodIcan'tbelieveIleftthistillthelastminute, the month of caffeine and sitting up late staring at the computer screen (or as I'm now going to start typing it, screan, a combination of scream and screen) typing a mile a minute on the keyboard. Red Bull. Mountain Dew. Pencil. Notebook. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
That's right, it's time for NaNoWriMo!
You know what I hate about Nanowrimo? I start preparing later every year. A month before, two weeks before. And every time I run into the same damn problem. I find my inspiration too soon, I want to start writing on it, but of course I can't. Because you can't start writing on your NanoNovel until 00.01 November 1. Of course, I live under the constant fear that if I don't do this and don't at least write down some ideas of what I want my Nanowrimo novel to entail before I start, I'll be sitting there at midnight at the cusp of November going "Oh my god. I have no inspiration. I have to write 50,000 words in one month and I HAVE NO WORDS! HEEELLLLPPP!"
Not that this has ever been a problem for me. Just take a look at the slushpile. Then multiply the different sorts of entries in there by ten. That's how many unfinished stories I have. Then multiply THAT number by ten. That's how many random ideas I have ricocheting around in my head for novels at any given moment.
Side note: Oh wow. I just checked out The Golden Spoons, aka the Matrix fanfiction awards... All three of my fanfics were nominated! I feel so loved!!!! Go vote for mine :p My screen name there is 'Drucilla' And Understanding is currently in the lead for best WIP! Go vote for it!!
Ahem. Anyway.
So, yah. Nanowrimo. Nanowrimo has got to be my own personal hell. I finished... I dont' even remember. Five novels my first year. The second year I finished.. I think one novel. Why? Because that was the year I broke up with my stupid-ass ex boyfriend, so there was a lot of trauma and angst and badness. But this year I don't think any such evilness will happen, so it's all good. But... I still procrastinate heavily. I haven't even gotten near my goal of practicing writing 10,000 words per day. I used to be able to do that. Actually my average was closer to 7,000, but never mind. I don't know what I'm going to do this year, though. Practice my fingers off in the next two weeks, I guess.
I know I can do it. That's not what's bothering me. What's bothering me is that I don't know how many novels I'll get finished in the next month. And that's.. well, actually, that's rather silly of me. But I always like to compete against myself, and see if I can write more novels than.. oh hell, I don't know why I do it. I think this year's goal will be six novels in one month. We'll see if I get anywhere near that.
All novels will be posted in big chunks on my slushypile,
pawprintletters. After that they'll be posted in their entirety on my website. Not sure how that's going to work yet. I also need a scanner so I can make poor attempts at illustrating my own work.
Meh.
I guess till then I'll work on some slushy stuff. That should be enough to give me some kind of practice at getting up my daily word count. And I have to update my fanfics regularly, of course. Aaand.. ugh. Brain just died. Work on my layout for the slushy journal, since I'm still not happy with the colors. I should really save my own color schemes. I wonder if that can be done. Hmm.

You are Form 3, Unicorn: The Innocent.
"And The Unicorn knew she wasn't meant to
go into the Dark Wood. Disregarding the advice
given to her by the spirits, Unicorn went
inside and bled silver blood.. For her
misdeed, the world knew evil."
Some examples of the Unicorn Form are Eve
(Christian) and Pandora (Greek).
The Unicorn is associated with the concept of
innocence, the number 3, and the element of
water.
Her sign is the twilight sun.
As a member of Form 3, you are a curious
individual. You are drawn to new things and
become fascinated with ideas you've never come
in contact with before. Some people may say
you are too nosey, but it's only because you
like getting to the bottom of things and
solving them. Unicorns are the best friends to
have because they are inquisitive.
