Jan. 13th, 2006 09:53 amSleepy tired. At work and sleepy tired. Have decided, screwit, am signing today, will make up hours week after next when I'm scheduled to work a full shift.
Have Shadowrun game tonight. Which is less game and more demo, but, whatever. Hopefully that'll go well. Then I have stories to write, and query letters. Which I probably won't get to till Sunday since apparently there is SR tomorrow as well. Moo. Sleepytired.
A PSA to all you men out there of a certain canon. I think maybe two or three of you will get what I mean about this. Hopefully. We women? Especially us women who for whatever reason have attached ourselves to you, or you to us, we like to be reassured of our place in your lives. Even if it's a toss-off Han-Solo-style otherwise-curt comment. Not talking about wine and chocolate and roses here, just a reassurance every now and again. Because we're prone to going "WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY DOING?" and then twisting ourselves into a tailspin about it. Which, granted, is also a problem for us. But you're not helping.
Actually, that's good advice for most males, or females dating females. Women, in general, it seems to me, like to know where we stand. Don't ask me why.
Um. Fft. Should get back to my desk. Tired. Don' wanna. But should. So I guess the rest of this (what little there is) will go up later. If I remember what else I was going to say.
Soon I will assimilate you all into Kingdom Hospital. Mua ha ha ha ha.
Over.
P.S. On second thought, guys? Even if it's just a toss-off comment, be clear. Ambiguity and cryptic and implications and sideways commentary and layers are not your friend. Not in this case. Even if normally we take it and throw your layers back at you and can walk the walk and talk the cryptic just as well as you can? Sometimes, it's just good to know.
Men, is this mostly a woman thing, as we suspect? Or is this a guy thing too and guys are just more macho/too macho/something to actually say it?
Hmm.
