kittydesadeWelp. Today was rather productive... I started in on that teaching certification thing. Go me. Found out that because I have one-maybe-two degrees I don't actually need to go through the whole undergraduate thing the way my mom threw a fit about. I just need to go through the Masters/Graduate/Certification program (depending on which college I actually go to) and do that. It might even be part time, so I can hold down a job while I go to school and get certified to teach! Yay! I've got two appointments and a packet coming to me. And one more school I have to call. Actually two but I'm not sure I want to go to a Catholic school that ... actually, now that I look at it, it doesn't look that bad. I'll call those other two schools tomorrow.
Now, if I can only find somewhere to live in the interim. That's the troubling part... my lease at my current apartment is up next month and be damned if I'm staying there any longer than I bloody well have to. My mom's looking into university programs at home, and I know she wants me to move back. But I know that if I were to do that I'd never actually get up and leave. Badness there. Besides, my boyfriend's here. All my friends are here (with the exception of a couple old friends who are in Chicago and northward).
Oh well. Maybe I'll get a scholarship that will cover me living in a dorm *shudder* while I study. Probably not, but we'll see.
Saw the premiere of Carnivale last night. It was wildly amusing and very interesting. I love the whole intertwining of faith, religion, spirituality, magic, and mystery that they have with life in the 1930s, in the Great Depression. I love the carnival that they center upon, it's so beautiful and so wonderfully dry and period. It's... mmmmm. It's so very tasty. I hope it lasts for many seasons. My favorite actors are still my favorite characters... Patrick Bauchau as Professor Lodz, Clancy Brown as the priest, Michael Anderson as Samson the ringmaster.. but I think I'll pick up some new favorites too. It all looks really interesting.
And I really want to know who 'Management' is. Or what.
