So, just so
settiai doesn't think I've forgotten... here is the latest incarnation of the history project. Although only the timeline itself is actually up. I'm working on it! I am! I'm not a complete slacker...
Did the first chapter of Death Comes in Packs today on PDF and the second on paper. It's so much worse than I thought. Ugh. Oh well. I haven't heard, yet, whether or not this person is going to take my advice and run with it or take my advice and tell me where to shove it. I suppose there are good sides to either... if she? he? takes my advice the story will be a bit better, a bit less painful to read. If she doesn't, well, I don't have to deal with it anymore. I can wash my hands of it with a clean conscience. I really shouldn't talk like that.. there's the germ of a good idea there, and there's some decent writing talent. It's just.. ugh. The finer points of grammar, like how not to write run on sentences, etc... They're all lost on this poor person.
This new series, Carnivale... it looks really cool. It's got a bunch of actors I like... Clancy Brown, Patrick Bauchau... and the premise just rocks. It's a premise I know both I and
cruelest_month have kicked around before. And the show itself... oh man. The commercials blow me away. I think it's going to be a really great show... and it might even stand a chance on HBO. Should be interesting.
Ugh. With everything that's been happening, it doesn't look like I'm going to get any more fanfic written... except maybe RiP... till Saturday. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, the last couple chapters in Understanding should tide people over till then. But I really need to finish editing the LXG fic and update it. I really really do need to work on that some more. Ugh.
So many projects I have to do. The LXG round robin journal is dying a slow and hideous death, so I guess that takes a couple off the list. RiP and Understanding and Shattered Globe... Understanding is going to go on till doomsday, I swear. RiP... I need a few more chapters and then I'll be done with it. Maybe I can bang out another one tonight. Shattered Globe.. its big and its complex, but at least there's an end in sight. An end that hopefully will arrive before Nanowrimo. Ah yes, Nanowrimo. Not for another two months, but I do need to get into the habit of banging out 10,000 words per day like I used to do. Today I guess we'll start with that weird dream fic, working title, Champions of Earth and Sky.
Here goes something... hopefully.
EDIT: You know, it helps if, when I'm starting to write this story, I have the actual names of the damn protagonists. I hereby dub them, for temporary purposes, Neil and Adrian. Why? I don't know. Actually I do know, and it's because those names have been popping up eerily often lately. The girl's name is Rose. Why? Because I can. And because I'm staring at the Sandman collection at the moment, most specifically the Doll's House.
EDIT: 2100 words. Why do I do this to myself... *bangs head*
