Dec. 21st, 2015 11:07 amWelp. I started this morning with a new schedule all set to accommodate my new goals for the coming year, and then I ended up sleeping in a little too much and between that and the fact that I'm still aching from Saturday capoeira... so much for sticking to schedule. On the plus side I did get most of the morning things done. It was just more haphazard than I intended.
And then of course I got into the door at work and all hell broke loose, so who the hell knows what I'm going to get done during the day. On the plus side, I remembered to schedule writing and editing time in the evening, so. And time for regular Arabic and Hindi, because this two days a week shit isn't working. And time for chord practice! Because guitars. I really, really need to practice a lot more before I buy any more equipment like a strap or anything, though. And since I mostly play sitting down, I wouldn't need a strap anyway until I need to go outside and play standing. So, maybe I'll get a strap for my birthday, if I'm still consistently playing by then.
Maybe I should set up some sort of small reward system for myself like I do with capoeira. One week's worth of consistent practice (barring illness etc), and I mark it off somewhere. Not sure what or how though. I don't really want to patch up my soft case. Ideas?
I need to do my year in review post and year ahead contemplations soon. Not sure where to begin or what to say, but I should do them. I might even post them in public this year, just to give people an idea of what I'm doing in a more overall, long-term-view way. Also known as I swear I know what I'm doing when I say I'm learning three languages and multiple crafts and so on.
Other than that. Eh. I'm sleepy today, not sure why. But slowly churning through everything that I have to get done, or had to get done, so that's a plus. Want my pencils to get here so I can start drawing, that's driving me a bit nuts, but I'll live. I can do chord changes and languages till then, honest. And I have knitting. Finishing that up should occupy me until the pencils get here. And the online classes. You would think. But no. My fingers itch to make use of my books and lessons. All of them, not just the ones I have supplies for. Ah well. Everything in its time.
