Dec. 17th, 2015 11:19 amWelp. I did saddle up and go to work today, and the whole first hour was me taking phone calls and running around and helping customers, which isn't bad on a normal day but today it left me with even more of my head spinning than I had before I walked in the door. So this is going to be fun. I don't feel as terrible as I did yesterday, but I don't exactly feel good either. Woo.
Doing the sleeves of the stupid sweater! With less progress than I wanted because I spent a good chunk of yesterday asleep, but oh well, I'm working the sleeves. And I didn't do the thing Aunt Beej told me to do because I wanted to see for myself how different it looked, and it does look different. But it doesn't look terrible, this is an experimental sweater, I'm ripping out a good chunk of the bottom ANYWAY to go back to the place where I fucked up on the front panel pattern. So I don't care. I'll probably do the other sleeve for a while the way she told me to do it too, to see how much the same that looks. Experimental sweater is an experiment watch me not give two wet farts in a windstorm. Plus now I know I can do top-down sweaters. It's good.
I'm not going to see The Force Awakens for a few weeks. Assuming I see it in theatres. On the plus side, I also don't give a shit about spoilers because for one thing, it feels like I've already seen and heard enough about it that there won't be any major surprises I care to keep secret. So, eh. I also can't muster up any kind of enthusiasm for it. But then again I can't muster up any enthusiasm for the prequels either.
Guh, the next few days are going to be awkward as hell. I need to finish up the last 7 minutes of Haven and post that when I get home, I need to deal with this sweater bullshit, then I need to deal with the Haven series finale bullshit which, oh dear god. I mean, on the one hand a lot of it is going to be answers that we're probably either going to do victory laps around or go ohhh okay I see where they hinted at that, so that should go a lot quicker? And then on the other hand there will be the list of unexplained potatoes. So many unexplained potatoes am I expecting. Bushels. Enough to feed Ireland for a week. And then, Sunday, by the time we get all of Haven done, then I might finally be able to rest and resume something vaguely like a normal life. But until then it's a case of too many deadlines crashing onto each other.
I finished at least the half of Full Metal Alchemist that exists on Netflix and next up, I guess, is the half that exists on Hulu. And at this point I might just shell out for Hulu plus so that I can watch it on the big TV and not have to deal with the laptop devoting all its resources to playing the stupid commercials. Which is the biggest problem. I've also picked up Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works, which seems to be coming in the middle of everything but I'm not entirely sure I care. It's entertaining. That's the main criteria. It's also a lot like a very simple video game, so that works well enough for me. After that might be the first season of Yu Yu Hakusho if I ever get it from Best Buy. And then who the hell knows. I should finish Full Metal Alchemist, do the movie, and then maybe go back and watch Brotherhood. I do like that anime. Maybe Bubblegum Crisis is still on Hulu.
The one bright spot of today that I don't have to rush around for is that after work supposedly we're going to go by the art supply store, at which point I may be able to pick up the cheapest brand of sketchbooks for me to practice on. Nothing fancy, but good enough to get a sense of what happens when I move to really fancy papers materials and things. And then I need to take stock of how many mechanical pencils of the right size I have, so I can make up charms or tape them or somehow otherwise designate which lead I have in which one. And then, ulp. Drawing practice! So excite. Many happy. Wow.
