Russian! )

Reading Russian is getting easier, or at least, quicker. As long as I don't have to stop and look up vocab, which in my textbook I don't, so much, anymore. These exercises most of the time I just flipped back to the dialogue, didn't have to look up the translation. And I didn't have to look up the translations at all for the questions in the second. That's progress, I guess!

I did my taxes. I did my damn taxes, and I did balance my books and they were a single penny off. Which just doesn't happen. I went for months with a twenty dollar discrepancy in my books because I was too lazy to go back for a couple months and try and unravel it; as long as it stayed a $20 discrepancy I knew it was there and I was fine, but now? A single penny! This makes me very happy. I've completed a number of onerous tasks I was bitching about the other day, things will go in the mail, it'll be all right. Well, I have to actually pay taxes rather than get a refund, that's not all right, but I don't feel so bad about that.

... My god, they're on Segway mowers out there.

Anyway. Lots more to do today. Filing. God I hate filing. Filing the rest of the order papers today, and then the internet order papers tomorrow. And somewhere in there, doing some more cleaning. At least the box room is in decent shape, I've been routinely fixing that up so that it pretty well stays in shape most of the time. I need to put together a grocery list for the boy of things I want to make ove the weekend. Spaghetti sauce is done, and I want at least two other big stew type dishes to just re-heat when the time comes. And then I'll be ready for the mail order sale. Oogh.

Japanese )

Posting this to my journal so that I actually remember to do it these days. And to have, I guess, a midway checkpoint on the things I need to do during the day, though I doubt it will be anything as simple as a bullet point list. So you all get to see me rambling a little more. :)

Actually, at this rate, I'm tempted just to start up a language journal but then I'd never actually post in this one so never mind. You all get to see me ramble two to three times a day. And have a little language lesson during it. Although while I'm at it, if anyone's reviewing these languages often enough that they want me to put down tags for verb forms, noun cases, etc, when I review them so they can go back and reference things since they don't have the book, speak now or forever hold your peace! Or just, you know. Let me know if you want the name of the book I'm using, which might be easier if not necessarily cheaper.

While I'm at it, and while I'm doing Japanese, if anyone wants to follow along do you want me to include a pronunciation key, of sorts in the exercise? Let me know! Because I've studied this before so I can read it fairly well, barring the vocab issue. Hiragana and Katakana, that is. Basically, let me know if there's anything you're curious about as far as language lessons go. I'm also starting typing up the Japanese from lesson 5, so.

Oogh. Still not looking forward to the mail order sale week, but I think I have all my writing stuff scheduled, and as far as other stuff I'm knocking down most of those tasks like gangbusters. Right now, a bit of a walk. And then work and writing, and hopefully tonight I will actually jam German back into my schedule. One step at a time, though. No beating up on myself if I don't get there.

I have my clergy card, finally. It's all laminated and stuff, looks official. It also has the title of "Paranormal Cleansing Minister" on it. I'm not sure I want to sound like a pretentious Ghostbuster (Egon?) as Anna puts it. Or a scientologist. I don't even want to know why it has that on it but, hell, it doesn't matter, I'm certified.

Oogh. There was probably more I was going to say, but I'm tired and I'm watching The Mentalist. And probably tomorrow morning I'll start making the tomato sauce for the spinach lasagna for next week. Actually, I'm really looking forward to spinach lasagna. I may need to make it more often or something. Is tasty good.

Tired, but there was productivity today! Not quite as much in the writing department as where I meant to direct it, but there was productivity. I'm knocking some things off my list. Other things, eh. I can work on them tomorrow or they can get reassigned a bit. Or we'll see what I can get done in the next two hours! There's always that, too.

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!
