… and the next grammar point is all about the phrasing of telling your name or asking someone's name. Which is about the same as it is in most languages.

-- Как вас зовут?
-- Меня зовут Кирилл.
-- А как зовут вашего брата и вашу сестру?
-- Их зовут Дима и Соня.
-- А как зовут ваших родителей?
-- Их зовут Владимир Александрович и Мария Петровна.

The words in bold are in accusative case, direct objects.

The accusative case, usage of. (UGH.)

The accusative case is used:

  • for direct objects
    Меня зовут Иван.
    Я читаю русскую газету, а Ваня читает русский журнал

    After the prepositions в and на to answer the question куда
    Мы идём в библиотеку. Потом мы идём в музей.
    Студенты идут на лекцию.

    In many expressions of time. So far we have gone through
    В + day of the week for on a day of the week
    Мы отдыхаем в субботу.

    На + number of years comparing ages (this is most obvious with one year):
    Мой брат старше меня на год.

    And tomorrow I will go over them again, I guess, since it's getting late and they do have exercises at the end of a bunch more review.

    Also, I'm watching Season 2 of Life. Guess whose fault that is.
