kittydesade: (painting)
I need to work somehow on developing a more disciplined and consistent practice of painting. I go through spurts of painting like crazy, then I run into some area where, I think, I paint a string of four or five minis I'm not happy with at a time, and then I stop. For months on end.

That said, though, I just made a kickass bear. And I don't need to make it a little red hat with Бруно written on it. I really don't.

I also finished the Cheyenne Scout for the game, just in time for Christmas hiatus, but hey. And now I've got two completely unrelated minis on my blocks to paint, one of which shouldn't be too hard and should give me a chance to practice my layering and feathering, and the other of which... is going to be a pain in the ass. And will give me a chance to practice my detail work? Guys, if I botch this one and stop talking about mini painting for a while, kick me.

Things to remember for tomorrow:

* Painting guide is good, but it still needs to be distilled into notes. Look for sections on painting leather armor tomorrow.

* Check Blitzkrieg to see if they have Vallejos in yet, and if so, what kinds. Not yet, but he's thinking end of this week beginning of next. Also, it's Game Color, not Model Color. Pfui.

* Citadel superglue is of the gods

* Look for Micron 005 pens at the art store across the street. If there isn't anything, ask for a set for Christmas. Found! Only thing they didn't have was yellow.

* Get your writing done as well as the painting. You have a dragon, use it.

Ugh. Half asleep. And this stupid book giving me stupid questions that involve numbers when it hasn't taught numbers yet is not helping.

Review the dialogues. How would you do the following?
1. Ask where someone was born.
2. State where you were born.
3. Ask where you grew up
4. State where you grew up.
5. Ask what someone's father (mother, brother) does for a living.
6. State what you do for a living.
Given by the verb book as 'What do you work as?)
7. Ask what someone's father's (mother's, brother's) name is.
8. Ask if someone is an only child. (fem?)
9. Ask if someone has brothers and sisters.
10. State you have an older brother or sister.
11. State you have a younger brother or sister.
12. Say your brother or sister is (two, one, five) years older (younger) than you.
13. Say your mother (father, brother) really likes her (his) job.
14. Describe the size and composition of your family.

Argh. And the weird half-headache half-dizzy thing isn't helping.
