kittydesadeI did get into tech school! I got in on the self-paced course, I start Monday which was set by myself in addition to being the 27th, the full-time paced course, but also because it'll give me a chance to clean my damn office and get some gardening work done that I meant to do and get a routine together and everything. Get my head on straight. Collect school supplies I don't need. I'm having the usual pre-school session urge to buy up notebooks and pens and possibly stickers just to see them all stacked and waiting for me to use them.
The last couple days have been pretty miserable, but thankfully only in an oh god why are menstrual cycles kind of a way. The rest of things have been pretty good! I got into tech school! I got unemployment for the pandemic extension! Mom's sending me money! I haven't the first idea what's going to happen to my unemployment after I say 'yes I am in school', if that makes me lose unemployment or get lowered unemployment, and I'm at the same mercy of Congress (mostly the Congressional Republicans) as everyone else but I have money for the next month or so, and after that I have family support as well so if it does cut off a chunk of my unemployment that won't be the end of the world either. (I asked the website chat. The agent was spectacularly unhelpful, but it's entirely possible given the bureaucracy involved that he doesn't know either.)
I have cross stitch enough to last me into the next year of the pandemic, though hopefully it won't come to that. I have all my workout equipment neatly arrayed ... not neatly arrayed. I need to clean my office. But, you know. It's in the office, My clothes are in the spare room, the house is set up if we need to separate again and hopefully we won't, and I am equipped to hang out here for the rest of time. Or at least until we get some degree of security from the grawlix virus.
And! And once I get through tech school I can probably get a remote job with a fair amount of ease considering I'm also planning on studying Python as I go through it (look if I have to learn two languages I already know I'm going to tack on a third I don't know because the time estimate will probably work out in my favor anyway and it just adds to my usefulness to companies. right? right.) and and and. And I feel more positive about my future than I have since this whole fucking mess started. Especially with the boy working health care so his job is secure, but not in a hospital that's currently swamped with patients so our health is secure for now. Here's hoping.
Now if these grawlix uterine cramps would just go away so I could think I would be a very happy kitty.
