kittydesadeI'd say let's never do that (Tuesday and Wednesday) again but I feel pretty sure we're going to do that again. Second verse, same as the first, a little bit louder and a little bit worse. I suppose till then I'll be glad to have time to recover. And then the UK elections and yeah, that happened.
I'm exhausted. I've been exhausted all week. I've been going to bed not quite on time but roughly. I blame current events. This past week has been a one-two punch to the psyche, usually with follow-up punches. I didn't get crap done the last couple of days, writing wise, that I needed to. It's two weeks to the start of the year and I still don't know what I'm working on.
BUT. On the plus side, I went to class on Saturday and I did work and I did exercise and that helped. For various reasons I've started getting anxious about going to class, but I did, and I did capoeira, and that helped. Now I just need to remember to get up in the morning on time and practice. Which means also needing to go to bed on time. We got the bookshelves put together Friday night, and while I did not end up with enough boards to do a back on a couple of the shelves as I'd meant to, that's fine, that's materials I'll get in a couple of weeks. I got the bookshelves done, I put them into the office, I did half the screwing! Previously when we've used cordless screwdrivers in things I've had problems using it, not enough pressure, not sure how to push, etc, but this time it worked a treat. And now I'm cleaning up the office, cleaning out the file cabinet, putting things where they go. I have a shopping list for my Christmas money that's half office stuff and the other half is art supplies, and I feel great about that.
(I'm also sending Christmas cards, if anyone wants to PM me an address. And by Christmas cards I more mean Frederick cards, Winter Sucks So Here's Something Colorful and Funny cards.)
I got the living room cleared of cat boxes, the cat boxes put back in the sun porch and the living room swept so its ours and not the cats again. I've been practicing guitar more regularly again. I've discovered the wonders of copic markers and I've been drawing. I've discovered that the tiny space heater we got ... last winter? Last winter. Can in fact heat the room well enough to make me comfortable, especially if I start it off roaring and then turn it down after a couple hours, when I want to be in the office. Which actually also makes a good solution to I Need To Work And I Want To Do It In The Office But I Want To Watch This Show, too. If I watch a couple episodes while the room heats up and then go in.
So, yeah. In my immediate life things are better. In... well, the rest of the world is the rest of the terrible right now, terrifying world. So. Yeah.
