kittydesadeUGH. Today was also pretty hectic, not because of things going on but because I woke up last night at 5 in the morning for no reason I could discern, sure that I'd forgotten something I needed to fix IMMEDIATELY. Which I kind of had, I'd forgotten to turn off my phone game and it had run down the battery, but that wasn't exactly an urgent thing. So I don't know why I woke up but then I had to toss and turn for a little over an hour, maybe an hour and a half. So I was goddamn tired and not operating at my best.
And then. AND THEN. I had a stack of makeup product boxes and shipping boxes to take out, and with my arms full and boxes protruding in front of me I didn't see Bat Cat running out beside me until it was too late and he was disappearing under the house. The jerk. Fortunately that lasted all of half an hour while I opened up the patio and shut the inner doors, called him twice or so, and on the second time he reappeared from under the porch, sat down, and proceeded to eat grass. So I picked him up and brought him inside, telling him to stop worrying his Mommy the whole time.
Blergh. Garden and house stuff seems to be further and further away given the timing of weather things, inspection things. I've probably spent more than I meant of my birthday money as opposed to what I was going to save for that, which isn't the worst in the world, but blergh. On many levels, including I wanted to have my mulch laid by now. But it rained all weekend so there was nothing going on in terms of outdoor projects for me. I think what's going to end up happening is I'm going to finish dealing with the raised bed over time, after work, over the next several days. Then if it doesn't rain all weekend, weeding and cardboarding the garden and putting plastic over it and next week seeing if a dump truck can unload a certain amount of mulch into the backyard through the gate.
But! In better or more uplifting news, I went and got my roots done because the ... something. The aesthetic of just a few grays in my hair annoys me. If there was more gray I'd get it dyed dark purple or something and it'd be all mottled and heathered but no, there's not enough for that yet. But I got my roots done and we discussed what to do next and came up with a really gorgeous red and purple and a bit of pink balayage for the DragonCon do, and I can't freaking wait now. Can't. Wait. So that's something to make me happy.
While I wait for my tax refund check to come in. Le sigh. Le glare at the postal system and the IRS.
