kittydesadeI'm having that peculiar kind of money stress that happens when you're getting a relatively large chunk of money in a few weeks, but you have a couple good once or twice a year sales you want to take advantage of this week, plus you want to get plants in the ground before too much of the weather goes, and aaargh. I'd say I don't know what to do but I do know what I'm going to do but also aaargh I feel like I'm never going to get out in front of my credit cards. Not that any of this affects that in any great way anyway because what's on the credit cards is the fucking dentist bill and the fucking vet bill and the fucking DragonCon hotel room that spiked 4x in price because of reasons. Ugh.
Other than that life is okay. The house is a pigsty as it tends to be towards the end of Nanowrimo events. I got one raised bed set up with pearlite and got the tomatoes in there, the peppers might go soon. We have ten pepper plants because the boy wanted a full rainbow of peppers to which I say he is going to share in the goddamn weeding and watering and whatever else needs doing. I found some damage to the raised beds where slats have come popping out, that'll need fixed. The boy wants to move them to which I say ahahahahah you're welcome to try to do it if you think it needs doing. Other than that though, the garden is sort of coming along? Not as fast as I wanted but about as fast as I can expect given it's the last few days of Nanowrimo.
Which is also coming along! Also not as fast as I wanted. I'm cramming a hell of a lot of writing into the last couple of days, but it's doable. Mostly. Barely? I'm so going to crash hard after this, which means it's a good thing there's plenty of house and yard work to do to engage my mind on a different level. Books to read. Etc. Edits to do, short stories to write and submit, websites to update, I have no shortages of things to work on that aren't novel drafting. But oh boy the burnout from this one is going to be huge. I may also need to give up the idea of getting the second Lifestyles book out in May at all, but if I can manage to regularly work on it it wouldn't be too late.
Blergh. I need to get organized and that is very clearly and blatantly not happening until possibly after Nanowrimo. If I'm lucky. Definitely after a day of sleeping, which also isn't happening until after Nanowrimo. I'm getting things done, I just feel like I'm rushing around trying to remember when and how to do them, and that is aggravating. Ah well.
The Nanowrimo novel is getting finished, the borage is sprouting, the bee balm is taking the first tentative steps towards sprouting, and if all is not right with the world by a long shot it's approaching that here in my tiny corner of it.
