kittydesadeWell. That was a weekend I could have done without, though it ended well. I got a clean bill of health from the doctor this morning over my blood pressure and everything else. But on Saturday when I was supposed to go and teach class (assuming there was anyone to teach) I woke up with a giant mucus plug covering half my throat. And at some point in the middle of the night Bat Cat had gotten out and a possum had gotten in. And then gotten out again so it wasn't even that much of a trade. He was gone all weekend during the cold and the rain, and I spent most of the time on the couch feeling sorry for myself and worried that the stupid cat had gotten into a fight with the outside animals.
(He had not, and he is back today and we are all very irked at him. So of course he's been spoiled with treats and blankets.)
And I am keeping up with Nanowrimo in both novels, which surprises me a fair bit. My satisfaction with both novels is starting to separate from "really happy" on the Grumpy Old Mercs side to "grumbly even though I know how to fix it" on the Galaxy Hillbillies side, but what I've come to realize is that without a lot more practice in the Southern Gothic genre I'm not skilled enough there to speed write it. The science fiction part yes! The Southern Gothic part not so much, and I'm about a day's worth of words behind on that so I've been speeding on it more than I should. I may be able to catch up this week though. If I do a bit extra every day, say, an extra 500 words, that should be doable.
Huevember is going along reasonably well too, despite getting a slower start on that. I got my drawing for tonight done, I was even reasonably happy with it! Until I lost a colored pencil. Then I found it down the side of the box between the pencil trays and the box wall. Oy. So, yeah. It's turning into a good month for creativity.
