Oct. 10th, 2018 10:26 amYesterday I managed to escape the brain trying to go in all different directions at once today, but instead I ate too much sugar and now have hyperactive brain chanting "snot corn" to the tune of Data's "life forms" song. While amusing, it also wasn't terribly productive.
That aside, though, I did manage to get the synopsis for Galaxy Hillbillies reconfigured to be a proper synopsis, details to be elaborated on if I decide to make it my Nanowrimo novel otherwise it can stay vagued up until such time as I decide to specifically deal with it. I sent that and the synopsis of what I'm currently working on to the editor who thinks for whatever reason that I'm funny and smart, not for a submission just for shits and giggles. I need to finish the Triumvirate novel synopsis that suddenly came together as fanfiction of all fucking things. Write some more on Pilot.
I got a fair bit done yesterday, which surprised me a bit. Both in day job and in write job, which I suppose is the consequence of having a properly functioning thyroid, I'm more mentally acute and energetic. I even managed to remember to keep it all written in my bullet journal, which I don't much like the current layout of, but I'm getting used to thinking of it and writing down what I did, and it is comforting to have all the things listed down that I did in one place. I don't know if I'll use the other sections, at this rate. They're just sort of taking up space now, although to be fair it has only been a month and a week. The idea of doing sketches per Patreon story is definitely not going anywhere, so I think what I'll do in the future is put that in a small box next to the box calendar so I can just write a blurb and have that be more solid. The rest... keeping track of ideas and books I've read is a good idea. But I haven't read as many books as I wanted to. I should watch that video on 'making a mistake with your bullet journal and see if it has any good ideas of what to do with a section I'm not going to use. I also might just start a new one in January.
Look at me, doing this bullet journal thing and getting some use out of it. Who knew. RIGHT I should also make a section for projects and what status they're at.
The status of the store is that we're in limbo with the potential dyehouse while they look over our samples of both undyed and dyed yarn that we sent them and poke the undyed yarn -- we sent them sample cards with small lengths of dyed yarn and 1lb cones of undyed so they could do some test dyeing. And we sent that on Friday, they would have gotten it yesterday or today, so ... bleh. No clue. The positives so far are that they don't seem in any danger of shutting down, they have a thriving business of clients who aren't us which was a big problem with the old dye house, we were one of their biggest clients and that's not enough business to run on. And we have a pre-existing relationship with them in that we already buy their metallicized yarn. So those are positives, and the rest is mainly unknowns. Woo? Ish? I don't even know what to think or do right now. Except that it's also two weeks till SAFF which means yay frantically packing for that now too.
Blergh. I'm enjoying that I have the energy to do much more than I used to be able to, I'm not enjoying the necessity to do so. That the things I have to do are expanding to fill the available space. THen again, it's that time of the year isn't it.
OH. BUT. SPEAKING OF. I did manage to get in some Hindi practice last night! For the first time in ages. YAY.
