Sep. 26th, 2018 10:50 pmMy butt bone is hurting somewhat less every day, but it's still uncomfortable to sit and since I do a large part of creative work sitting this is aggravating. Still, I made it through the day without being wiped out at the end, and then I made it through class. Participating more than I have been lately, even. My right shoulder is still made of unpleasant tendon-strained fuckery, but I found the position to put my arm in for the main defensive pose that doesn't make it scream, so now I have to practice using that arm position since it's obviously not the typical one. The rest, my hips and lower back ached more than usual I think from the fall down the stairs, but my breathing was normal and my energy level was good.
I haven't been writing as much the past couple of days as I want to. I'm foggy emotionally more than mentally during the day and when I get home I just want to sleep. Not sure what that's about, unless it's a side effect of being in pain when I sit down, which it may well be. That combined with it's the last couple-three weeks before my period mean PMS is also a likely participant in the mind-fuckery. I suspect, although I don't know where to begin looking for evidence, that because I have only four periods a year anymore that my PMS time is extended even as my PMS symptoms are sort of muted. It's still a trade-off I'll happily make, since the symptoms are muted and I get them over two or three weeks at a chunk of time instead of one week out of four on the regular. (They'd probably be muted with regular cycle hormonal BC as well but I like what I'm on now.)
I have been reading though, which is a good thing to do when you're not up to writing yet. I've been reading the Poppy Z Brite books Liquor and Prime, which I deeply enjoyed and I'm sad he hasn't written many more of them, but I understand there is more so I'm going to have to look for that. (He being Billy Martin, the artist formerly known as Poppy Z Brite.) I was aware of him in the past under the PZB name because a good friend of mine in college was into those books, but I never read anything at the time. I'm intending to make up for that now.
That's most of what's been going on in my world today. We flea treated the cats today. We asked for a specific day of appointment for tree things, they won't be able to do it next week soon but it's not next week urgent anyway. The house badly needs cleaning but it was a capoeira day, I definitely don't have the energy to do that tonight. This weekend, since I don't have a Pokemon day or a capoeira demonstration and I sincerely hope not to fall down the stairs anymore.
