kittydesadeI would enjoy the fireworks a lot more if people would stop doing them at a reasonable hour, especially in the middle of the week, and not set off large explosions near my house at 12.30 at night. I'm just saying. Other than that the 4th was nice, people got started with the show around 8 and it went on a good while, was very pretty, I can see several of them from near my house so I didn't really go anywhere, and the whole thing was nice. Nothing caught fire! I always worry about that around here.
My Kindle did continue to shut itself off or freeze up in the middle of reading unless fully charged, so between that and the fact that it's six years old I just went ahead and bought another Kindle, which made me choke a bit but I pulled some money out of the bookshelf fund and hopefully I can replenish it before we come time to actually make the shelves. Which may be true, if stuff keeps breaking at the Elf Lord's house. Did manage to finish Rolling in the Deep on the browser reader, which was good and not at all like the Mira Grant zombies books so evidently my bad response to Feed was a continuation of my aversion to zombies, not to her writing style. Yay! Horror movie mermaids will be mine.
I finally... something. I really, really need to get better about doing this before I start book launch, not to mention promoting myself afterwards. But I finally got Malachy into format for print (it's been out in digital for about a month) and once I finish the book back, all other things being equal I should be able to order proof copies and then bring some down for DragonCon. I hope.
Still need to get better about promoting myself, and I have no idea how to do that. Other than practice, of course.
Actually while I'm doing cover art and finishing that up I should do back cover art for Lifestyles of the Witch and Famous and then all the cover for Jude/Mistress of Mirrors/whatever else I'm going to call it. That's going to get submitted too, but I might as well get cover art lined up just in case. Mostly I need to hustle my ass on writing and editing things, especially the edits.
