Jul. 2nd, 2018 09:43 pmWell, it's July 2nd, and I still haven't heard back from the one market that said they'd have all rejections and rewrite requests in by the 30th so... I don't even know what to think, though, given that the last time they said "okay we had more responses than we thought, we're getting to you" and then nothing for six months. I think I'm just going to assume they're late. And then there's another one that I probably have a week to ten days left to hear on that. But writing is happening! Edits, progress is happening. I'm very happy with this.
At some point I need to poke the Elf Lord about making bookshelves but it never seems to be the right time. For one thing they now have a broken appliance at their house, and argh. And I have two months to go till DragonCon, some of which will undoubtedly be spent binging and preparing and some of which will be spent frantically writing to get stuff cleared before DragonCon and ... bleh. I might just ask him if we can do it in stages, because I can sand and stain the boards myself. It's the measuring and such of the boards that I want to be careful on, and then there's a trick he wants to do with having short bookshelves stacked and locked with brackets? of some kind?
Mostly I wish things would stop breaking. Today it was a washer, a dryer, and an AC (in different households), my Kindle, the phone for a moment in the middle of an order, the toilet, and a couple other things that I have since forgotten but still. Yeesh. This is more than necessary.
Bookshelves though. Sigh. I want my bookshelves so all my relevant books can be in my office and we can spread the fiction books out over the proper bookshelves. That would be so nice to have. Ah well.
